Altruistic Camping? What is that?

Project "Camping Memories" is the result of a brainstorming session wanting to create not just a web store, but something more. The idea has grown into a store that will become a destination, where we can help enhance camping trips. Camping, with an altruistic twist, and How we got started

A while back, I was presented with an opportunity to help a friend start a business, well kind of take over and build a business is probably a better way of saying it. You see, in the seemingly never ending down turn in the economy, my friend was pushed out of his supervisor position, due to the company downsizing. No blame there, we understand that a company has to do what it can to stay alive during hard times.

My friend was not going to sit around and accept unemployment as an option. He was inspired one day through some advertising, to start his very own business. Why not, he had some free time right? This being a new venture, and not quite aware of the time frame it would take, to actually get the biz up, and producing profitably, he went all in. Well one thing led to another. The economy continued getting worse and not better, push came to shove, and something else had to be done. The company did not spark into an overnight success, and It was time to get back into the working for someone else routine again. Yes, it was time to get a regular job. No worries, the business would just have to be done part time.

Well a job did eventually come his way, unfortunately though, that job was going to be out of the country. Not being sure about the laws in this foreign land, and going to be very occupied with this new job, meant the self run business would have to be put on hold. Unless, someone here in the states could run it for him, until he got back from overseas. But who could he trust with this investment?

That is where I come in. You see, this friend, offered me the chance of a lifetime. The chance to be a partner in his business. Otherwise my partner’s investment would have been wasted. I was already working a full time job, and a part time one too, but I have always been told, when opportunity knocks, you better answer. So, with this belief, I took the reigns and we were off and running. I can not express my gratitude enough for my friend giving me this once in a lifetime shot. I have been in sales all of my life, and had always dreamed of the opportunity to own a business.

Our company actually started, with someone trying to help someone out, a two-way exchange of helping one another. Since we started this way, the next right thing to do was to continue, continue being helpful. I hope you can see why we feel it is important to be helpful, and give back to others. We will accomplish this giving back, by asking you, our customer, to share your camping experience. We will also be sharing tips, tricks we learn along the way, and campfire cooking recipes as we grow and experiment. So we invite you to partake in this altruistic approach to camping, and invite you to be part of the next generation helpfulness.

With a start like this, I can assure you, you are very important to us, and our customer service will blow your socks off. We will do everything we can to make things right. We will never put a dollar in front of a customer.
