Why the Mount Kailash Parikrama Is Important?

The holy mountain of Kailash Manasarovar is revered among several religions like the Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and the Bonpos. For Hindu’s it is the ultimate destination of souls and the home of Lord Shiva (Lord of Dissolution). There are several mythological attachments to the revered mountain but much more so the belief it’s the epicenter of the universe resonating and radiating a lot of creative and divine power that whosoever has experienced the holy mountains is never the same again.
It’s a significant point that the Kailash Parikrama is one of the most arduous and challenging yet the devout subject to Lord Shiva’s presence and dominion with a reverent heart of purity and worship. There are reasons why the Kailash Pradakshina is clockwise circumambulation of the revered the holy mountain and connecting with divine Lord Shiva. Many Hindus and Buddhists (Buddhists in anticlockwise direction) have done the Kailash Parikrama for several generations reaping the Lords blessings and guidance.
There are beliefs attached with the Parikrama even from the ancient Vedic times that show the importance of doing this act of worship or prayer in Hindu spiritual rituals and rites. It is believed doing a clockwise Pradakshina is symbol of auspiciousness, straightforwardness, submissiveness, impartiality, honesty and compliance to the divine Lord. Pradakshina also symbolizes in these pilgrimages that the divine nature is the central point or focus of human existence.
What Makes the Kailash Parikrama Highly Revered?
-Recognizes and acknowledges the Lord as the center of human existence or being. When Pradakshina is done it is done with meditative mind and soul.
-It also shows the Lords impartial grace and closeness to all devotees who may perform it with a submissive heart.
-Being considered as the center of the universe and the spiritual destination of all souls and humans it’s the ultimate pilgrimage destination for all seeking salvation.
-Its equally believed as Lord Shiva’s son Lord Ganesha encircled (did Parikrama after his father asked him and his brother Subrahmanya to travel the world and gain world knowledge) his father and mother goddess Parvati at Mount Kailash and justified it as Parikrama for the world was contained in Lord Shiva as the lord of dissolution.
-Devotees believe that doing a Mount Kailash Parikrama washes the sins several lifetimes and taking a holy dip the Lake Manasarovar washes away the sins of a lifetime.
