Moving to New York is very exciting. New York is a city like no other. It is big, it's fast, crazy, diverse, unique. There are so many ways to describe New York. This, of course, wouldn't be the case if it weren't for New York's neighborhoods. There are so many of them and each one has a special type of charm. We are here to talk about the 5 coolest neighborhoods in NYC and why you should consider moving to one of these neighborhoods.

5. Chelsea, Manhattan

Chelsea is known as a contemporary-art district. It’s home to high-profile spaces as Gagosian Gallery and Gladstone Gallery. This neighborhood has been gaining a lot of attention among artists and many of them want to live right here. Chelsea is also appealing to many people because it has great views of the surrounding architecture. Looking at those big skyscrapers and industrial landmarks sure have a strange way of motivating you. It's a different kind of amazing but it still is amazing. The old loading dock of the former Nabisco factory is where you'll find small restaurants and bars. Here is where you will be able to meet plenty of different people.

Sadly, Chelsea is located far away from Central Park but this doesn't mean you won't be able to enjoy the nice weather outside. There are plenty of green spaces in Chelsea too. This means that you won't have to leave your neighborhood in order to get some fresh air and relax. You'll have plenty of options if you decide to live in this neighborhood. Homes in Chelsea are very nice as well. They are pricey but we're talking about New York here.

4. East Village, Manhattan

If you're someone who loves eating in nice restaurants, drinking in amazing bars and having a lot of fun, East Village is for you. Here is where you can find both old and new restaurants. Expensive shops and second-hand stores. Basically anything you need, you have it here. This neighborhood is located on the east side of Manhattan on the coast of the East River. It has an amazing view - you can see the Williamsburg bridge and the part of Brooklyn called Williamsburg.

East Village has plenty of advantages. It is located not far away from the center of New York. There's also a great park where a lot of families spend their free time. East Village also has good schools so if you're thinking about starting a family, this might be the best place for that. This is one of many reasons why young professionals move to East Village. So, if you are moving to NYC for a job, this is the neighborhood for you.

3. Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Williamsburg is located in Brooklyn, just across East Village. It is also near the East River. This neighborhood is very big. It is connected to Manhattan by Williamsburg Bridge. This part of Brooklyn is where everyone wants to live because it's so good. It's considered as one of the coolest neighborhoods in NYC because a lot of people live there. It's a neighborhood with plenty of people from all over the world.

Here is where you will find small bars, restaurants, shops, and markets. This is also where you can get amazing tattoos. Living here means experiencing each day in a different way and you won't regret settling down in Brooklyn. This is exactly because of the fact that this part of Brooklyn is so popular. It also attracts a lot of tourists as you can find a few very fun museums here. There are also plenty of lovely parks and I can't forget to mention the amazing view. If you like the NYC skyline, this is the best place to look at it.

2. Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Manhattan definitely wins when it comes to having cool neighborhoods. Greenwich Village is one of them. Located just under Chelsea, this neighborhood is for those who live a very lively life. If you like moving, laughing, and having a lot of fun everywhere you go, you'll love this part of town. Here is where you'll find the most charming comedy clubs, small restaurants, coffee shops.

This is where a lot of universities and colleges are located and it's why this is such a lively neighborhood of New York. There are thousands of students on the streets every day. A lot of students work and live here too. And being surrounded by young people only makes you younger. Especially in New York.

1. Upper East Side, Manhattan

The first place on my list of the coolest neighborhoods in NYC goes to Upper East Side, of course. This is the neighborhood everyone knows about. It's located on the east side of Central Park and it's the neighborhood we've all seen in movies. Here is where you can find those skyscrapers that have an amazing view of Central Park. This is also the richest part of New York and the most exclusive one. This neighborhood is home to many celebrities and you don't have to have a lot of luck to run into one on the streets of Upper East Side.

Living here is impossible for those who don't earn a lot of money because this is such an exclusive part of New York. But what you can do while you're here is go shopping, eat in luxurious, fancy restaurants, drink cocktails in expensive bars. But if you don't have the money for that, just walking on the streets of the Upper East Side will make you feel amazing because of the architecture and because you've seen it all in movies.
