Why Holika Is Celebrated?Holika dahan also known as Kanudu Pyre is celebrated by burning holika which was an asura. Formany traditions in Hinduism, Holi celebrates the killing of asura named holika. According to Hindutraditions, the asura (holika) was killed by Lord Vishnu in order to save Prahlad, a devotee of GodVishnu in the city of Multan and thus it gets it’s name ‘Holi’.Holika Dehen Muhurat?Holika Dehen is generally done in evening but most important is to do within a specificmuhurat and the muhurat for holika Dehen in 2020 is on 9 th march from 6:25 pm to 8:49pm.
