5 ways to use sabja seed in your diet

Sabja seeds are the new superfood that helps us in weight loss and immunity building. With low-calorie value and enough nutrients, it is one of the best weight-loss supplements.

Also known as tulsi or basil, they are rich in antioxidants. They help people struggling with weight, lose a lot of pounds than other seeds of the same family.

The benefits of sabja seeds are more than weight loss, though. It helps control your blood sugar levels and appetite too. But it is best used for weight loss. They are great for your hair and skin too, and consuming them soaked provides the maximum benefit.

When you soak them in water for a little while, they swell approximately 20%-40% of their original size. After that, you can use them in a variety of ways to include in your diet.

1. Create milkshakes or smoothies using sabja seeds

  1. One of the best and easiest ways to use sabja seeds is to make a smoothie out of it as you do with chia seeds.

  2. For instance, you can add 2 big tbsp of yogurt in a blender, preferably natural greek yogurt. Add strawberries or bananas or any other fruit, add maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract-1 tbsp and a half a cup of sabja seeds.

  3. Blend them to create a smoothie. You can also make a milkshake by putting basil seeds into the milk and adding honey and vanilla essence to it.

2. Sabja seed pudding

Use some unsoaked sabja seeds and put them in milk. You can use soy or almond milk or low-fat whole milk. Make sure the seeds are enough to give the milk pudding-like consistency. After that, add maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract and some nuts in it. Keep it in the fridge overnight or for at least six hours. You can add fresh fruits to it and eat it for breakfast or as a dessert.
