Do You Really Need Dual Core Smartphones?

All the smart phone manufacturers are going hammer and tongs after producing dual core phones. Apple is probably the only manufacturer who has only one dual core smartphone leave alone quad core mobile phones. Most of the iPhones are single core because Apple is responsible for the production of both the hardware as well as software of its phones. This is the reason that most of its software runs seamlessly on its hardware because the hardware and software are completely compatible. However, the software created by Apple is not open source and it can only be used on Apple hardware. On the other hand Android is an open source OS and can be run on any kind of hardware. In fact mobile phone manufacturers are able to customize the different versions of Android to suit their hardware.

However, actually speaking the earlier versions of Android like Froyo and Gingerbread, don't even recognize the power of dual core phones. It is only the later versions like Android 2.3.5 and Android 2.3 which actually utilize the power of mobile phones. Android has been developed by Google and is an open source software. In order for the phones to have extra features and really be unique it is becoming increasingly necessary for them to opt for latest technology. With such a lot of variety of software and hardware Android is not fully able to utilize the single cores fully which is why manufacturers are opting for dual core phones.

As far as mobile operating systems are concerned their actual core are the Apps. Web OS failed completely because of the lack of interesting apps. Developers realize this fact and are developing games and apps which actually take advantage of the dual power of the cell phones. It is not possible to play HD games on a single core smart phone as they have been created keeping in mind the power dual core smart phones. Also features like the shooting of 1080p videos at 30 fps and the ability to connect your phone to HD televisions and the ability to play 1080p content are also available only on dual core smart phones.

This is the reason that if you are buying a mobile phone then you should opt for a dual core smartphone. In fact it will be a better idea to opt for quad core mobile phones if you can extend your budget a little more. With these extra powerful smart phones you will get unbelievable features and apps. These will make your smart phone a complete utility and entertainment package.
