Panic attack, on the other hand, does not come as a reaction to any stressful situation. It can be unprovoked and unpredictable. At the time of the panic attack, the person is filled with fear, terror, and apprehension. They have a feeling that they are going to die, lose control, or have a heart attack. There can be physical symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, and nausea. Along with the ongoing and terrifying panic attacks, people begin to start thinking about the next one. This is called anticipatory anxiety.

Though some of the symptoms in anxiety attacks and panic attacks seem almost similar, they are very different from each other. While anxiety builds up gradually, the panic attack comes unwarned. A panic attack can also have a negative effect on your health and lifestyle adversely. You can experience symptoms like sweating, dry mouth, trembling or shaking, headache, and dizziness during both anxiety and panic attacks. However, anxiety attacks are mild or moderate in nature, whereas panic attacks are severe and can be very distressing for the person. It is assumed that stress is the ultimate genesis of these issues and happens when it grows uncontrollably. It can occur due to issues like a stressful job, social situations, driving, chronic pain, caffeine, and thyroid problems. Both can be risky for you, and it can be diagnosed by physical examination, blood tests, psychological evaluation, and a heart test.
