Well, many people do not have to take the worker’s compensation benefits seriously. Shockingly many of the employees in California are not even aware of their rights and never come forward to claim the compensation. Instead, they prefer to suffer quietly. However, it should be known that it becomes extremely hard for the injured employer after the sudden shortage of income, medical bills and the stress the whole family goes through.

So, worker’s compensation is not only a right but also becomes a necessity in such a situation. If you are still unaware of all kind of benefits that you receive by hiring workers compensation attorney in California, well worry not as in this Blog, I will let you know about the same.

What is Worker’s Compensation Benefit? Ok, for those who don’t know in worker’s compensation benefit, the disabled worker receives weekly income. Yes, you heard it right. To support the injured employee finically, every week they receive a certain chunk of income.

For how long they will be receiving this benefit purely depends on the laws of different states. Apart from that compensation also differs from the type of injury which can be classified into four types: temporary total disability, temporary partial disability, permanent total disability, and permanent partial disability.

Difference Between Temporary and Permanent Disability

Temporary disability as the name suggests refers to the short term disability which will improve with time whereas permanent disability refers to the condition in which the injured employee’s medical condition is stable but is not expected to get any better.

Difference Between Total and Partial Disability

It is clear by the name itself that total disability refers to the situation in which the employee is unable to do work of any kind. Be it his former job or any other job, he is not capable of doing any kind of job.

Whereas as far as partial disability is concerned, it means that the employee is not completely disabled and can do some light jobs.

What is the Duration of Weekly Compensation Benefits?

Well, again it differs from state to state. For temporary injury, most of the states make the employer pay for a duration ranging between three to seven years. As far as permanent injury benefits are considered, there are no limitations for as far as some states are considered whereas in some states benefits are ended once the person reaches the age of 65 years.

Permanent Impaired Benefits

These benefits are given to the injured employee who is suffering permanent injury and any certain body part of his is damaged permanently. Say, for example, that the worker has injured his hand during the working hours in the firm and has lost forever the ability to move or work with that hand, and then the employer will be liable to permanent impaired benefits which vary according to different state laws.

So, these are some of the benefits that you never knew about.
