Traditional Taste of Soya Pulao Recipe

Soya will be recognized as an important pulse in your Kitchen. Soya beans are used to control the sugar level in the blood. It reduces the cholesterol level. Soya beans are rich in protein content and declared as a healthy food. In addition to the soya bean, the pulao contains rice, vegetables, spices, and ghee; so finally, it will end up with a healthy lunch for your busy day.

The Soya pulao will be liked by all age groups. It will be mostly liked by your kids. This soya pulao will be the best main dish for occasions like birthday parties or wedding parties. The raita or green chutney are the two suitable side dishes for soya pulao.

Ingredients for the making of Soya pulao

    • cup of basmati rice.
    • cup of soya chunks will be dried.
    • cup of chopped carrots
    • cup of fresh green peas
  • 1 tsp of cumin seeds
  • 1 small piece of bay leaf
  • 2-3 black peppercorns
  • 1 small piece of cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 fresh green chili in chopped
    • tsp of turmeric powder (if needed)
  • 1 ¼ cups of water
  • Needed quantity of salt
  • 1 tsp of pure ghee or oil
  • 2 tsp of chopped coriander leaves for the final taste

Steps to be followed to make soya pulao

  • The rice should be rinsed for 2-3 times in water. The rinsed rice will be soaked in water for 15-20 minutes.
  • The soya should be soaked and rinsed in hot water for 15 minutes.
  • The chunks will be increased in double the size after 15 minutes of rinsing in water. Remove the excess water and again rinse the chunks for 2-3 times to remove raw chunk smell.
  • The non-stick pan with lid is heated with either oil or pure ghee.
  • Then add the cumin seeds, bay leaf, and black peppers into it. Stir the mixture until the cumin seeds to sizzle.
  • The sliced onions and fresh green chili are added to this mixture and cooked it until the onion turns transparent.
  • The chopped carrot and fresh green peas are added and cooking it for 2-3 minutes.
  • The excess water from soaked rice has to be removed and the rice will be added to the non-stick pan.
  • Then the turmeric powder and the soya chunks can be added. It will be cooking on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  • Now add the 1 ¼ cup of water and needed quantity of salt to it. the mixture is allowed to boil on the medium flame.
  • Once it's starting boiling, the flame is reduced to low and cover the pan with the lid.
  • The lid kept closed until the rice gets cooked properly and sticky.
  • The flame can be turned off after 10 minutes and keep the pan over the stove for 7-8 minutes. Then the soya pulao is ready to eat.

Final thoughts

The Soya Pulao can be prepared within 25 minutes and it serves for 3 persons.
