In an effort to attract the visitors from India and promoting the tourism of Thailand in India, the Tourism Authority of Thailand decided to organize Road Shows In various parts of India. The cities which were the focus of TAT were New Delhi, Jaipur and Bhubaneswar. These cities saw the Road Shows by TAT on 21st July, 23rd July and 25th July respectively. The main motive of TAT was to showcase Thailand as the attractive and inspiring tourist destinations in front of Indians.

The Road Show which begun with the Capital on 21st July saw its end on 25th July at Bhubaneswar. Thailand understands the significance of India and this significance can be understand by the data that For Thailand, India is the sixth largest market for them and on an average per Indian spend around seven days in Thailand while Bangkok Sightseeing and spending around Rs. 10000 per day. In the present scenario, the main segments visiting the country are the business class and the leisure class among them the weddings purpose is the prime party. The last year saw around 200 weddings and several events in the country being part of the Indians.

However due to the civil unrest in the country this year, there has been some decrease in the visits by Indians and thus to motivate them, TAT decided to organize Road Shows at various parts of the country. Even the decision of the TAT to attract more first timers to the country and that too from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities motivated them to choose these two cities in the form of Jaipur and Bhubaneswar. However one important thing to note that there are no direct flights from either of the cities to Thailand but still the people of Jaipur can en-route to New Delhi to reach Thailand while for the People of Bhubaneswar, the Kolkata Airport will complete the need. However, the need is just to motivate them and inspire them to spend some part of their life in the beautiful land of Thailand.

These road shows were also focused on promoting the new destinations like Chiang Mai, SukhoTai, Ko Tao and several other new destinations apart from Pattaya and Phuket which are already the hot Favorite among Indians. Several B2B sessions were held in which the Indian Travel Agents were presented the opportunity to interact with the Thailand Tour Operators. With such interactive sessions and some innovative steps, the Tourism Authority of Thailand are trying to attract greater number of visitors to the Thailand and hope to benefit more through their tourism sector.

In recent times, it also seeks the help of several Thailand Tour Operators in order to prepare more lucrative schemes and packages to attract more Tourists to the country and improve the tourism in the best way.
