Posted: Mar 01, 2020
Today, we are going to talk about how to go wireless with your home theatre system. But at first, say goodbye to the ugly, horrible cable mess.
Wireless internet connectivity allows you to stream online entertainment directly from the internet. You can access movies, videos, music, and many more from a vast list of providers like netflix, youtube, etc. And the fantastic thing is, you don't need any dedicated Ethernet connection/
You can easily set your home theatre system wherever you want. You will need an existing home network with a wireless router. The wireless router is hardwired with your broadband connection. Then your router gives wireless signals to your wifi-enabled devices.
Wireless Home Theater Connectivity Options:You must make sure your products have built-in wifi, like hdtv, blue-ray disc home theatre system.
A wireless home theater or entertainment refers to a setup that has a set of wireless surround sound speakers. Let's talk about the wireless options can be incorporated into a home theater system.
Wireless speakers:Wireless surround sound speakers are the most popular wireless product available for the home theater system.
But there is a catch. Anu speaker needs two types of signals to function.
First of all, it needs to have access to the audio signal.
Secondly, the speaker needs a physical connection to an amplifier so that it can produce the sound. A battery or ac power outlet can provide either power it.
In a wireless speaker setup, the transmitter sends the music or movie soundtrack information to a speaker that has a built-in receiver.
Although the signal is wirelessly transmitted, to produce the audio signal, the speaker needs additional power. This means the speaker still needs to be physically attached to a power source and an amplifier.
You might have reduced the long wire from the signal source to a receiver. But you need to connect the "wireless" speaker to a power source to produce sound.
Wireless subwoofers:Subwoofers are the wireless solution for home theater since they.
Subwoofers are becoming very popular in soundbar systems. Only components, the main soundbar, and a separate subwoofer are needed here.
Although the wireless subwoofer eliminates the need for long cable and allows flexible room placement, both the soundbar and subwoofer still needs to be plugged into a power strip.
Wifi AND wireless networking:Wireless networking is becoming more popular in the home theatre system.
Consumers can use their laptop or pc anywhere in the house without ethernet to connect to the internet. The built-in wireless transmitter/receiver into the computer or smart tv communicates with the central router and access the internet directly. It can communicate with other devices connected to the router as well.
Apple AIRPLAY:Apples have a wireless streaming connection option called airplay. You can connect it with your ipod, iphone, ipad, or apple tv. If airplay compatibility is integrated into a home theater, it will be able to access content streamed or stored on airplay devices.
Hdmi:The wireless hdmi connection is the transmission of high definition content from a source device. For example, from a blu-ray disc player to a tv or video projector.
An hdmi cable is connected from source device to an accessory transmission box. The box then sends the signal wirelessly to a receiving box. And the receiving box is connected to the tv or video projector using a short hdmi cable.
Home PLUG:Home plug technology is not truly wireless. It uses house wiring to transfer audio/ video and internet information through a house.
With this technology you can get all audio and video signals coming to and from your home theater components by using an individual converter module that is plugged into your own av wall outlets.
What is WISA?Wisa stands for wireless speakers and audio. It is supported by more than 60 manufacturers like lg, toshiba, klipsch, and bang & olufsen.
Wisa is a hardware and software specification for providing high-resolution digital audio wirelessly from a source device to a maximum of 8 powered speakers within the same room.
It ensures a high degree of reliability by using 24-bit 48khz, or 96khz signals can support up to eight channels. Wisa systems might offer 3d audio formats like dolby atmos and dts:x in the future as well.
If your home theater is wisa-enabled, you can place your speakers anywhere you like. It eliminates the need for running speaker wires, and a/v receiver altogether.
But wisa is not a multiroom or whole-home music system. It is not planned to be connected to other wireless audio ecosystems.wisa is not compatible with non-wisa wifi or bluetooth speakers. But some speakers that are wisa certified can be used with other wireless audio applications.
Wirless connection PROBLEMS:While streaming videos from netflix, vudu etc. Via wifi, it might not be stable and as fast as wired connections. To solve this change, the location or distance between your streaming devices and your router.
Moreover, bluetooth and miracast work well in an average size room. But if you find your wireless connection is inconsistent, you should have considered the wired connection between your devices.
The technology of wireless home theater or home entertainment is still evolving.
New platforms and products are introduced each day, but there is no one wireless "universal" platform that can work with all product types or brands. So, it would be best if you do some research before you buy wireless home theatre solutions for your home.
