If you were born in India 30 years ago in a middle class family, you would have certainly rented a driver-driven cab for a family road trip. The driver would silently driver the car to the destination, often at high speed, and halt the car at certain stops. It was considered a luxury back then to rent a cab that would talk you to places, but people soon started realizing the futility of having an unwanted member in the car. And that is why; the Car Rentals began sprouting in the big and small cities. The metropolitans do have an organized market for the Self-Drive Cars, and the same industry runs in an unorganized manner in small towns.

Next time, whenever you think of a road trip to any destination in India, why not think about Self-Drive Cars?

Cost effective

Since you are not going to have a driver drive for you, you would definitely save on the cost of the driver. In the previous days, you would have the only option to hire a chauffeur driven car. However, the times have changed and people prefer to drive their own cars and save the extra seat that the driver takes. Moreover, you don’t have to pay for his food or accommodation.

Save on fuel

When you hire a cab, you have to pay a flat rate for the kilometers traveled in a day, which definitely proves expensive in the long run. However, when you hire a Car Rental in Chennai, for example, you can take it to Bangalore or any other city you want without worrying about the inflated charges of the fuel, and you have to pay a flat rental charge for the rented car. Nonetheless, when you compare a Self-Drive Car and a cab of the same model, you will find the former to be cheaper than the latter at all times.

Damage insurance

Most Car Rental companies provide an unconditional insurance for their vehicles, after you pay a certain small amount for accidental coverage. If your car indulges in a mishap, you have to pay only the preset amount for the damage; every charge over and above that amount is paid by the company. On the other hand, when you bring your own car for the trip, you have to pay for the hefty repair charges on your own in case of an accident.

For all the above reasons, people find it better these days to rent a Self-Drive Car rather than buy one. Or even if someone has a car, and they plan to go for a road trip with friends, they can avoid conflict and rent a car. It becomes easier to sort out the expenses of fuel, repair, and insurance whenever needed. On the other hand, when you bring your own car, you may find it challenging to split all the expenses between every traveling member. Times have changed and so have the ideas of road trips.

Self-Drive Cars are the demand of today’s road trippers.
