Arriving in Dalaman for Your Turkish Holiday

Holidays in the stunning region of southwestern Turkey are becoming more and more popular. As you will see when organising your airport transfers, Dalaman itself has much to offer, but for most it’s merely the entry point to Turkey and there’s so much more out there just waiting to be experienced.

Airport Transfers – Dalaman and Beyond

Recent upgrades have established the airport here as a modern and well-equipped international facility, capable of handling around 4000 passengers per hour. Impressive as it is though, and no matter the extent to which it offers shopping and duty-free purchase opportunities, it probably isn’t somewhere you’ll want to spend lots of time!

When it comes to getting you out onwards to your holiday destination, you may find that the area is not particularly well serviced by public transport facilities. Milling around aimlessly once you have picked up your baggage whilst looking for ongoing transport is not the ideal way to get your precious holiday to this beautiful part of Turkey off to the best of starts.

Getting to Where You Want to Go

You'll discover, for example, that there are some bus services to Marmaris and Fethiye but these may be few and far between and they might not be particularly conveniently timed for your particular arrival time. Bear in mind, too, that there may be many stopping off points on the route - so if you are at the end of the line, your journey time may be significant. (That’s something to bear in mind on your return journey as well if you want to avoid missing your flight!)

Remember too that bus services will not necessarily drop you off at your hotel – just like any public transport, your bus will have set dropping off and picking up points which may not be convenient, particularly if you have luggage to deal with into the bargain. There are taxis available that can get you into the town to pick up transport to your final destination, but that’s not something that you might relish after your flight and before you’ve been able to change into your warm weather clothes. The prices charged by those taxis can be expensive and there could be extensive connection delays.

The Solution

But don’t worry – there is a far better option! Pre-booking your onward travel with a private shuttle company is by far the best decision you will make. With these dedicated airport transfers, Dalaman Airport, interesting as it may be, can be but a distant memory within minutes, and you can get your holiday started as quickly as possible.

What You'll Have Waiting

Once you've settled in from your airport transfers, Dalaman and the surrounding area have plenty to offer tourists. This part of the Turkish coast has something for everyone, including beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, modern marinas and traditional ports. With historical links going back as far as 12,000 years and involving Alexander the Great, the Romans, The Knights of St John and, more recently, Lord Nelson, anyone with a keen interest in history and archaeology is going to be spoilt for choice.

If you're planning a trip to Turkey and making your own holiday arrangements, it’s never been easier to book airport transfers. Dalaman is a highly accessible destination, with plenty to see and do once you've arrived.
