Within the borders of the state, both the inland cities and the shoreline area have a unique southern vibe that grabs your attention. The state’s shoreline is known for its marchlike sea islands and subtropical beaches.

The first shots of the American Civil War were fired in Fort Sumter, South Carolina and the historical city of Charleston impresses with its pastel-colored houses. Also, to the north of the state, the Grand Strand offers tourists and residents about 60-miles of beachfront. The same goes for the income to rent ration and the small town living offers affordable shopping and entertainment close by.

Bennettsville

These cities in the same metro area are similar prices but much quieter compared to Myrtle Beach.

Fort Mill

Fort Mill’s location in between the two major cities, Rock Hill and Charlotte makes it the ideal place for commuting in between these cities. This has resulted in higher costs as far as housing goes but it is still close to the national average. The historical city of Fort Mill, SC holds some of the iconic events and people of the past that shaped the history of the city and the state.

The last Confederate meeting was held in Fort Mill and descendants from the first caucasian couple that inhabited the area are still living in the city. Therefore, the historical downtown of Fort Mill brings to life all the amazing historical events that shaped the area in what it is today.
