Downhill skiing is one of the most exciting, exhilarating sports ever invented. Each winter, thousands of people flock to the French Alps to enjoy its exciting and challenging ski slopes, as well soak up the comfort and charm of a cozy chalet. La Tania has a host of other winter attractions as well, such as other sports like cross-country skiing, snowboarding, sledding, ice skating, and others. There are also plenty of other attractions, such as gorgeous scenery, award-winning restaurants and luxurious spas.

The Courchevel area of Les Trois Vallees offers year-round snow and skiing due to its unique location in the French Alps. But, unsurprisingly, the area is just as popular in the summer as it is in winter. Where else can you enjoy both summer sun and snow at the same time, as well as stay in a gorgeous chalet? La Tania in the summer really offers visitors the best of both worlds!

Ski

You don’t get to be a world-class skier by spending summers watching TV at home on your sofa - just ask the 1992 Winter Olympic athletes this charming ski town was created for! If you are a beginner, summer is the perfect opportunity to get ready for the winter ski season by taking a few lessons at École du ski Français, the largest ski-school in France, or one of the other recommended ski schools in the area. And if you’re an advanced skier who has years of practice under your belt, the best way to perfect your skills is with more practice. Here, this can start soon as you step out of your ski chalet. La Tania's gondola ski lifts are not only open all summer (full time on week days and half-day on weekends - check with the tourist office for the schedule), but also are 100% free of charge. Even in the hottest days of summer, the "Summer Area" of the Tignes Glacier will be snowy, providing approximately 20 kilometres of pistes and nearly 750 metres of vertical runs.

Don’t Ski

Although skiing is definitely one of the greatest attractions of Les Trois Valles, there’s certainly plenty of other exciting things to do, especially in summer - so don’t waste your daylight hours hiding out in your ski chalet! La Tania is renowned as one of the most beautiful parts of the world and the mild summer climate is the perfect time to go exploring.

Discover the wonders of nearby Vanoise National Park, the first national park in France (established in 1963). Offering more than 600 kilometres of parkland, it is home to more than 1200 species of flora and numerous species of fauna, including the protected Alpine Ibex and bearded vulture. Be sure to take a camera so you’ll have plenty of amazing photos to enjoy once you finally say goodbye.
