Nowadays, tourism is becoming a business field that provides tips and ideas about visiting beautiful places. Ross Island is one of them who touches the heart and near to natural beauty. When in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ross Island Andaman is a beautiful place to visit. It is a perfect place to visit if you want to spend a day in the center of architectural history by driving for hours.

Ross Island was the British colony’s headquarters during 18 century, and today people are living, thereby rebuilding the ruins houses of the British era. If you talk about its wild beauty, then it’s surrounding by wild wines, roots ad trunks of many British period officers’ quarters, and rundown church. There are few essential landmarks in the most spectacular of the centuries-old islands. Besides, others can also visit Ross Island attractions, including the British chief commissioner’s residence, church, and graveyard.

The islands of Andaman and Nicobar lie in the Bay of Bengal (India). These islands stretch for a total distance of 780Kms. The total geographical area of these islands is 8300Sq. Km. Near to 6400 Sq. Km of the Andaman group, the land area, consists of reserve forest and is a protected area. Of this ground, 35 percent are tribal reserves. The Andaman Islands group is composed of the North, West, and South Andaman Islands.

There are almost 300 reefs, and about 200 rocky outcrops. Yet, there are only 24 islands populated (11 in Andaman and 13 in Nicobar).

How to get and collect details prior to the tour

Going to Ross Island isn’t a hard task: from Marine Park, Port Blair, there are several ferry tours. In one day, to cover the whole island, it is prudent to take a morning ferry and return in the afternoon, as the ferries operate from 7 am to 3 pm.

The ruins of buildings built during the British period can be seen in Ross Island. Church ruins, printing press, government offices, powerhouse, tennis court, pool, bakery, etc. could be seen. Navy is maintaining a museum called Smrithika on this island. Many old photos, documentaries, and digital versions of letters concerning the island of Ross are included. There is also a Britishers’ graveyard surrounded by coconut palm trees here. Citizens can even walk along the beaches situated on the other side of the island. The island is full of brave deers and peacocks. The island is replete with coconut and palm trees. There are so many places for tourists to go and relax on the island.

Protocols of island

Photography from the front part of the island is not allowed, as it is considered a protected location. Citizens will also not take pictures as they enter the island. At the island’s entrance, they will receive tickets for all sorts of cameras and are free to take photos inside the island. There is only a small snack shop on the island. The entire 2 hours is enough to reach all the locations on the island of Ross. People on the other side of the island will enjoy the beaches (Ferar beach). The use of and disposal of plastic objects is forbidden. Swimming is only permitted close to Smritika.
