CCIE Routing & Switching Written is for the time period of one hundred and twenty minutes in which the students solve ninety questions to hundred and ten to pass the exam and get certified.

350-001: CCIE Routing & Switching written covers the topics related to the product in which students do the technical learning and understanding to being able to perform the complex tasks in the industry.

The topic that is first is Implement Layer 2 Technologies which consists of Implement STP, IEEE 802.1D, IEEE 802.1W, IEEE 802.1S, protocols, EtherChannel, and load balancing, Implement Ethernet technologies, Speed and duplex, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet, PPPoE Frame Relay, LMI, Traffic shaping, Full mesh, Hub and spoke, DE2013 Cisco Systems, Inc. This document is Cisco Public. Page 2 and Implement HDLC and PPP.

350-001: CCIE Routing & Switching Written Ten percent is covered by Implement IPv4 in which the students have to study how to Implement IPv4 addressing, subnetting, and VLSM, tunneling and GRE, IPv4 RIPv2, IPv4 OSPF, Standard OSPF areas, Stub area, Totally stubby area, NSSA, Totally NSSA, LSA types, Adjacency on a point-to-point and on a multi-access network, OSPF graceful restart, Implement IPv4 EIGRP, loop-free paths are available and not available, EIGRP queries, routing, Cisco PfR and Cisco OER, filtering, route redistribution, summarization, synchronization, attributes and other advanced features.

Four percent is by Implement IPv6 where the candidate learns about Implement IPv6 addressing and different addressing types, IPv6 neighbor discovery, basic IPv6 functionality protocols, tunneling techniques, Implement OSPFv3, Implement EIGRPv6 and filtering and rout.

350-001: CCIE Routing & Switching Written Fourth topic is Implement MPLS Layer 3 VPNs that provides knowledge on Implement MPLS, Layer 3 VPNs on provider edge (PE), provider (P), and customer edge (CE) routers and VRF and Multi-VRF Customer Edge (VRF-Lite).

Fifth topic is Implement IP Multicast where the students have to learn about PIM sparse mode, MSDP, inter-domain multicast multicast tools, features, and source-specific multicast and IPv6 multicast, PIM, and related multicast protocols such as MLD.

The next topic is Implement Network Security in which the candidates are given objectives related to Implement access lists, Implement zone-based firewall, Implement uRPF, IP source guard, AAA, Implement CoPP, Cisco IOS Firewall, Cisco IOS IPS, SSH, IEEE 802.1X, routing protocol authentication, device access control and security consist of HSRP, GLBP, VRRP, NTP, DHCP, WCCP, QoS, MQC, NBAR, CBWFQ, MDRR, and LLQ, Classification, Policing, Shaping, Marking, Compression, Layer 2 QoS: WRR, SRR, and policies, LFI for Frame Relay, generic traffic shaping, RSVP, Cisco AutoQoS.

Next is 350-001: CCIE Routing & Switching Written Evaluate Proposed Changes to a Network where the students have to Evaluate interoperability of proposed technologies against deployed technologies, changes to routing protocol parameters, parts of a network to IPv6, Route protocol migration, Add multicast support, Migrate STP, the effect of new traffic on existing QoS design, the operational effect of proposed changes to an existing network, of network or portions of network, Performance degradation and many others.

350-001: CCIE Routing & Switching Written exam requires practice and training by the candidates.
