While designing products, always keep in mind that you are designing for the people. When it comes to the account of building great products, the design has always been the most important feature. Whether you are a designer, a developer, a product manager, program manager, marketing manager, or product manager, it is most important and essential to understanding the product development process in order to create the best piece of work.

Product designing is the process of identifying market opportunity, that clearly defines the problem, also developing a proper solution for that problem and also validating the solution with real users. Product design expands the process of imagining, creating, involving, and iterating products that solve users’ problems or address specific needs in a given market. The key to successful product design is mainly the understanding of the end-user customer that is the person for whom the product is being created. Product designers make sure to solve real problems for real people by using both empathy and knowledge of their prospective customers’ habits, behaviors, frustrations, needs, and wants.

Over the passage of time, a kind of industrial design has evolved into its own category which is now called product design. This is because industrial design today implies physical products such as furniture and household appliances, whereas product design can refer to any product, it may even be digital or virtual products such as software apps. Some of the famous influential product designers of all time are Jonathan Ive, James Dyson, Dieter Rams, Marc Newson, Arne Jacobsen, etc. Top product design companies are MAKO design +Invent, Ziggle tech inc, slice design, syberry corporation, etc.

Career opportunities for product designers include,

UX DESIGNERS:

User-experience designers focus on refining a product based on how they turn their research into users’ behavior in which people will get the most satisfaction from using the product. UX designers aim to increase users’ happiness.

DATA ANALYST:

Data analysts focus on user research along with other data in order to identify the ways to improve a product’s layout, feature set, and visual aesthetic. In other words, their primary role is a scientific one, but they too are designers.

PROTOTYPER:

Prototypers are the major members of the product team who bring ideas of the team to a tangible state, to help the organization quickly validate with the users and the product’s features and other characteristics. For digital companies, the prototyping team will develop wireframes or other virtual mockups.

PRODUCT DESIGNER:

Most of the time, a company will hire a person to handle several of the roles above, and the remaining, under a job called product designer. In companies, they will handle some of the bigger picture, strategic elements involved in developing new product ideas. Other professionals in the organization take responsibility for things like user research, UX design, information architecture, and so on.

Product design is far broader than most people realize. It is not just simply the process of making a product look better and simple. As Eric Eriksson argues, "product design is the whole process." And that includes problem validation, as well as crafting, designing, testing, and shipping the solution.
