Philosophically, our past was once a future, and our present will become past. That is the reason why we constantly work on our present to make it better. This helps us leverage all the available resources and create things that will benefit us in the future. Following the same philosophy, man has created many methods that we are using right now. One of those methods is known as distance education. This method of education was first introduced in the 1700's when an educator offered training materials and tutorials for learning. Later in the 1800's the method improved and converted into 2-way communication. At that time, the educator and students used to correspond via letters.

In the 20th century, with the advancement of technology, we came across faster communication methods that can reach a wider audience. The education method that developed at the time later became the foundation of modern e-learning. With the help of audio technology, educators started to deliver lectures where they explained different subjects to their audience. After that, educators started to introduce teaching machines that help people to solve questions and practical exercises.
