Without permit for safari you have no option to explore the core and this is where best tiger sightings take place. But you can still explore the outskirts of Bandhavgarh called buffer but this area is much less productive.

Primarily the tourism are which constitute twenty percent of core is divided into zones. The park is divided into three zones namely Magdhi, Tala and Khitauli these are ranges where excursions are possible and all of them are in the core or critical tiger habitat.

The core according to protected area concept no human habitation can be allowed here. And the area is subject to lot of care and protection hence the ecosystem is in an excellent state of preservation. This area is one of the most picturesque whence compared with tiger reserves all over India. Thus tiger safari in the core is most rewarding. But then there is a catch only limited numbers of vehicles are allowed for excursions. Only vehicles registered with are allowed to conduct safaris at Bandhavgarh National Park in MP. The excursions are conducted on open jeeps and twenty seat canter which is a small open truck like vehicle.

Six tourists are allowed to sit in a jeep while twelve tourists can avail seat on a canter. Apart from the tourists a driver and a forest guide is also accommodated. The naturalist accompanying the guests is counted as one among the six tourists. He or she is from the hotel the group belongs to and is there to assist in tracking tigers and birds during the safari. There is also an option for single seat booking in which you can book a seat which later on or on arrival at the gate other five tourists can join you. The entrance fee and jeep hire charge is then shared among the six people. This option is limited to few jeeps.

Another option much utilized by film makers and photographers is the full day safari. This is very costly and allows the jeep to stay inside from predawn to sunset. Entry is allowed half an hour early from regular timing and exit is half and hour late. Breakfast and lunch is allowed at designated centers inside the core and there is no limitation in zones. The booking is done from the office of field director who is usually the conservator of forests as well.

The planning behind choosing the zones is dependent upon experience. Tourist booking permits themselves usually consult a contact for guidance. This is important since tiger sightings change regularly as per their movements and activities. Generally all the three zones have an equal potential but for some reason one may be particularly productive.

Regular visitors do not have any problem with choosing the zones and booking the hotel accommodation along with other travel services.

For excursions permits are essential hence book safari permits at Bandhavgarh in advance. You can book safari online at Bandhavgarh on MPOnline Website.
