What is the Easiest Way to Recycle Paper at Home?

The golden rule of reducing environmental burden is in the 3R’s of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. As per statistics out of all the waste being generated in United Kingdom, was 45% in 2018 where it was 45.5% back in 2017. The government has been already working on to make this up to 50% at least. This cannot be possible until every person starts recycling on its own. Be it old used crockery or the clothes that are no more in trend or be it a piece of scrap or a piece of fragile used paper. Everything can be recycled. Here we are going to tell you some amazing and easy tips and tricks to recycle your paper at home without any hustle.

Before moving on further, let us be very clear about what recycled paper is and what type of paper can actually be recycled? Recycled paper is the one which is made from old paper which is no longer serving the intended use. This can be made from almost any old paper available at your home, but just avoid glossy, sticky and plastic like paper since it can cause trouble in your recycling process.

All you need for recycling your own paper is:

1. Water (Preferably warm)
2. Blender
3. A mold
4. Mesh
5. Cloth or Sponge
6. Spatula
7. Mini Skip Hire (You can get it from online UK-based stores)
8. A lot of waste paper

Here is a step wise guide to recycle the paper. Just let’s get started:

1. Firstly, tear the paper into really tiny bits and put it in blender with warm water to make a smooth, fine paste of it.
2. Place the mesh over the mini skip hire and put your mold on the top of it, as evenly as possible.
3. Now pour the mixture over the mesh and try to stay in the lines of mold.
4. Once your mold is filled, clear the sides with help of spatula to avoid any bumps.
5. Now layer your fabric on top of mold and press with sponge to squeeze out excess water. Remember only press the sponge; don’t drag it over the surface.
6. Once you feel that all extra water has been eliminated, you can turn the mold down to transfer the mixture on fabric.
7. Now let it dry for a day or two. If you are in hurry you can give hot press as well.
8. Your recycled paper sheet is ready! You can make as much sheets as you want by repeating the above steps.

Bonus Options:

If you are not ready for the hustle involved in recycling paper, there are many other options available to Re-use the old paper. You can use wet newspapers to clean windows and mirror. You can use old papers for gift wrapping or you can use it as shelf liner in cupboards. The list is long; all that is needed is your creativity and a little concern for the environment.
