Unusual Attractions to Visit During Your Time in Prague
Posted: Sep 11, 2014
Prague is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. This ancient city is known for its history and stunning architecture, and it is one of the most beautiful cities you'll ever see. When you visit Prague, airport transfers to your destination are easy to arrange, then, once you have settled in to your accommodation, it's time to start looking around at the sights. But rather than heading to the attractions that everyone else visits, why not take a look at some of these more unusual sites?
A Nuclear Bunker
Few attractions can be as interesting or haunting as going on a tour of a nuclear bunker, so make this first on your list once being delivered to your accommodation by your Prague airport transfers. You can't just go and see it on your own, though, you need to join a tour - but it is actually all the more interesting for this. Head deep down underground and enter this Cold War bunker that was built in case of nuclear disaster. You'll see not only the bunker but also medical kits, gas masks and other necessary equipment; it is a fascinating and sobering experience.
The Dancing House
The city is famous for its beautiful architecture, but one building that sometimes gets missed in the stampede to high profile sites is the Dancing House, which is the unofficial name for the Nationale-Nederlanden Building. The curved lines of the building create a fluid appearance similar to something Gaudí might have designed.
Lennon Wall
This is a wall dedicated to none other than John Lennon, so if you're a Beatle fan this should certainly be on your list of things to see. The wall is covered in graffiti, much of it dedicated to Lennon, but it also represented the local resistance to the communist regime in the past, so you'll find many political messages as well. It is a bit of an effort to get here, but the driver of your Prague airport transfers should be able to give you some tips to find it and how to get there.
Letná Park
It's always good to visit a high point in a city to take in the panorama from above, and this is exactly what you can do at Letná Park. It's a bit of a climb, but the reward is a splendid view, taking in the Vtlava River and the various spires of the city. You will also find a very pleasant park to take a stroll in, along with a beer garden.
See the Less-Visited Attractions
This lovely city is a fantastic destination for a holiday or weekend getaway, so once you have arranged your Prague airport transfers, seek out some of the more unusual attractions to visit. There are some great iconic sights that you will want to see, but explore a little further and see some of the less-visited attractions as well.
