Prague is a city packed full of beautiful and historic attractions. Once you've settled in from your Prague airport transfers, you will no doubt be keen to get out and about sightseeing. Although there are plenty of things to see, these three below are arguably the most impressive.

1. Charles Bridge

Charles Bridge is one of the main attractions of the city, and everyone should cross over the bridge at least once on foot – you may even pass it on your Prague airport transfers. It gets packed with tourists in the high season, but it is still worth the effort to visit it. If you want to avoid the crowds, get up early and cross the bridge before anyone else is even up! The bridge, which was commissioned by Charles IV in 1357 and completed in 1390, is lined with interesting statues. The views are beautiful, and you will find plenty of street performers to watch as you amble across the bridge.

2. Prague Castle

Known locally as Pražský hrad, Prague Castle is one of the most popular attractions in the city and should very much be on your list of things to see as soon as you've settled in from your Prague airport transfers. Its beautiful towers and spires can be seen from all over the city; inside there are many historic buildings to visit, as well as galleries and museums.

It is the biggest ancient castle in the world and today it is the head of state's official residence. It dates back to the 9th century, and inside you can visit St Vitus Cathedral, the Basilica of St George, the Old Royal Palace, the Powder Tower, the Picture Gallery and more. Choose to go on a short tour or a long tour depending on how much time you have.

3. Jewish Museum

The Jewish Museum consists of six monuments all grouped together in Josefov: the Old Jewish Cemetery, the Pinkas Synagogue, the Maisel Synagogue, the Ceremonial Hall, the Spanish Synagogue and the Klaus Synagogue.

The museum dates back to 1906 when it was formed to preserve the synagogues from being demolished during the clearances of the slums. Objects and artifacts were brought in from all over the area, and it has now amassed an impressive collection. You can buy one ticket to see all the monuments, and you can pay extra if you want to see the Old-New Synagogue. (This is the oldest synagogue in Europe, being built in 1270.) The Old Jewish Cemetery is the highlight for many people. This is the oldest Jewish graveyard in Europe - built in the 15th century - but it has not been used for two centuries. It contains as many as 100,000 graves.

See the Best of the City

These three attractions should be top of your list when you visit this gorgeous city. Once you have arrived at your accommodation on your Prague airport transfers, get out there and explore this truly spectacular destination.
