i. Characters & motivations

In Mystery Novel, the most complex aspect is the characters. A character who is the good guy need not be a model citizen, and the bad guy has a back-end story that would justify his deeds, at least in the mind of the character.

It is the rivalry between these two opposing forces that give rise to a plot that will ensure that the story moves forward; hence it is essential for each character to have a clear motivation. As a novelist, you need to be able to satisfy the following questions

  • What is the purpose of what they are doing?• What is the character's eventual goal?• Who has the protagonist to save himself or somebody else?• How will the characters react in the face of adversity?

ii. Opening scene

For any book to intrigue its reader, the opening scene is the most vital scene, and for a thriller plot, it serves a crucial part. A good start always gives the story the best chance to develop a thrilling story.

iii. High stakes

A high stake plays a characteristic role in a thriller story, but a particular change depends on the subgenre. In a domestic thriller, the stake will be more specific to the vital characters. When compared to political or military thriller, the consequences are broader, which affect the fates of a group or a country, or it can be global.

iv. Make it difficult for your protagonist

As a novelist, you must warrant that the audience cares about the protagonist and their fate and the finest route to do so is by placing them in such a situation from which it will be impossible whether they will be able to make it or not. It will help to heighten the stakes, and their eventual success will make it more satisfying for the readers.

So, if the characters in peril or any sort of a dangerous situation from an unexpected form or place, it will keep your audience intrigued by the story. Another popular idea is making the trusting allies turn on the protagonist by giving them an out of the blue plot.

v. Climax is necessary

This is the part of the novel where the reader, along with the protagonist, has been waiting for the final showdown with the antagonist that will conclude the story one way or the other.

This is the most crucial scene in your book; hence make sure you dedicate the time to refine it and make it really shine.

vi. Give your story a satisfying ending

It is not necessary for a satisfying end to be happily ever after. You have to keep in mind the type of story you have been telling and provide the ending accordingly.

In the end, the author is very much acquainted also in orthopedic. So, if you need any Orthopedic Novel, you are always welcome.
