Phi Phi Island

It's no surprise that Thailand's Phi Phi Islands are among the country's most popular snorkeling destinations. Situated in the middle of a vast water area with an average depth of 1,000 meters, the Phi Phi Islands' remarkable landscape is one of the top 5 diving destinations in Thailand.

The archipelago consists of two main islands, Ko Mai Phai (also called Bambusinsel) and Phi Phi Don. The two main islands are Ko Phi Mai and Ko Don, where Phi Phi Don is the only inhabited island, while the other islands consist of small islands like Ko Phra Mai.

Both islands are located near Phuket and Krabi and attract tourists, but Phi Phi Leh is entirely free of human inhabitants. The Phi Pi Island accommodations are as diverse as the islands themselves, and some of them are off the road, such as Ko Phi Don and Ko Phra Mai.

When you visit the main islands of Koh Phi Phi island, you will find hundreds of tour operators offering the same trip, and each island is a beautiful sight to see. The day trip to Phi Pi Islands takes about 50 minutes if you leave the Phuket Resort by speedboat, but travellers can also take a short boat trip to Ko Phi Don or Ko Phra Mai to enjoy the beautiful view of the islands and their natural beauty. You can visit Phi Phi islands whilst scuba diving in Phuket and it is relatively easy to take a ferry to Ko Phi Don or Ko Phra Mai, although I strongly suggest you to avoid Phuket during your visit to Thailand. To get there, you must be prepared to take a pleasant 1-2 hour drive, but direct boat connections from your Phuket hotel offer a much more picturesque view of the islands and natural beauty of Phi Phi.

Of course, it is still possible to take the old school way and arrive from Phuket on Phi Phi Island, but you have to fly to Phuket first. One of the best ways to get to Koh Phi Pi Island or Ko Phi Don is to take a boat from Ao Nang or Krabi to Ko Phra Mai, from where you can then take a ferry from Ko Phra mai to the islands of Koh Pi Phi and Koh phi Phi don, which takes about 1,5-2 hours.

The trip then continues by ferry to Krabi, and from there you can visit Phuket Phi Phi Islands on a private day tour. Private day tours are undertaken from Ume to Phi Pi Phi Island from Phuket or Ko Phra Mai from Ao Nang.

If you want to return to this post to get more information about the best things you can do on Phi Phi Island, you can pin it here. We think that this is all you need to travel to the Phi Pi Phi Islands and get there. If you are planning a private day trip, where you will stay overnight in Phuket or a day trip from Ao Nang or Ko Phra Mai and design your trip to the island, our PhiPi Phi island guides will help you make the most of your time on this unique little island.

There are two ways to get to Phi Phi Islands: Ferries and speedboats run in the region between Krabi and Phuket.

One would be surprised if one believes that there are only two other islands as big as Phi Phi Islands. Phi Phi Lee's best view is in the southeast, near the "Phi Phi Don" and offers a good idea both of the coast of Phuket and the southernmost part of the island, the sea. If you are scuba diving in Phuket then you can go to the Phi Phi Islands on one of these trips.

Only one of the Phi Phi islands is inhabited by only one "Phi Phi Don," which means that the other is reached by boat, which one does not want to miss. Ko Phi - Phi Don is the largest of the two Phuket islands, and as a tourist, you spend most of your time exploring them. Loh Dalum Bay is located in the southernmost part of Phi Ph Phi Island, only a few hundred meters from the main island, so you can do the best things while staying on it, but it is a little too far away and can get very busy. It is also located on the south side of Phuket Bay, not far from Phuang Thong Bay and the beach.

James Bond Island is located north of Ao Po Pier, while Phi Phi Islands are located south, and both are located between Phuket and Krabi, but in opposite directions.
