A 7-Day Ladakh Trip Itinerary For First-Time Visitors

  • Day 1 – Land in Leh and rest.

You will land in Leh in the morning or early afternoon hours. Once you arrive at the airport, you will be assisted by our agents to go to the hotel that has been booked for your stay. Once you are done with the check in procedure, you can relax in your room and then spend the rest of the time in leisure. As you have reached a high altitude place, you would need some time to acclimatize with the environment. You can rest in your room and make sure that you keep yourself hydrated. At the same time, you can capture beautiful scenic views from your hotel room and relish some delicious Ladakhi food.

  • Day 2 – Leh city tour.

The second day of the Leh Ladakh itinerary is meant for Leh city tour. You will take a tour of the city and some of its surrounding areas. On this day, you will be taken to the confluence (sangam) of the indus and zanskar rivers and the famous Magnetic Hill. Then you can have a delicious lunch at a local Tibetan restaurant. After your lunch, you can continue with your visit to Leh palace and Leh Main Market. You can spend some time shopping at the market and at the end of the day, you can return back to the hotel.

  • Day 3 – Drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La

On the day three of the trip, you will be heading out to the city of mountains. You will drive from Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La. Reaching Khardung La pass, you can head out in the direction of Nubra Valley that is famous for its landscapes. After reaching Nubra Valley, you can check into your hotel and then spend time in relaxation.

  • Day 4 – Drive to Pangong Lake.

You can check out from the hotel in Nubra valley and then head back to the dunes. You will be visiting the famous Diskit Monastery in Nubra Valley before heading out in the direction of Pangong Lake. Once you are done with the exploration tour of the monastery, you can drive to the lake which takes about 6 hours to complete. The lake is very much famous for its massive length and width. It is also widely held for its stunning turquoise blue water. Once you are done with the activities, you can check in to your accommodation and then spend a night with your loved ones relishing local cuisines.

  • Day 5 – Drive back to Leh via Chang La.

The day 5 of the trip is the last day of driving through Ladakh and you will now proceed to Leh via Chang La which is a famous mountainous pass. You will have stopovers at Hemis Monastery where you will get a chance to explore its architecture and learn more of its heritage from the locals as well as tour guides.

  • Day 6 – Explore Leh.

On the 6th day of the tour, you will be taking an exploration tour of Leh. you can revisit the local market to collect some souvenirs and then visit Thiksey Monastery, Shanti Stupa, and Stok Palace. Then you can stop for lunch at the famous orchid of Chulli Bagh. Then you can continue your trip to watch a Ladakh Cultural show and at the end of the day, you will be transferred back to the hotel.

  • Day 7 – Depart from Leh.

This is the last day of the trip. You can wake up and then get ready for the flight. You can pack your bags and then head to the airport to catch the flight back to Delhi. However, if you have time, you can head out to the local market or villages to capture a final glimpse of life in Ladakh.
