If you are a truck driver, an upgrade in your truck camper accessories is highly recommended. Why? Because front and rear dash cam with night vision can be used for several different purposes by the truckers. Some of the common things that they use this for is for security purposes and for observation of their surroundings at night. Some drivers may also use these to see in their mirrors when backing up or in reverse.

The ability of the truck cam to allow the driver to see in their mirrors or to view their surroundings at night gives them a higher sense of security. It allows them to be more aware of any potential threats that are on the road near them. This can be especially useful if there are people who you have to drive over that are following you or driving beside you that are making inappropriate gestures or talking on their cell phone. A rear view cam with night vision will give the driver additional protection from these road hazards.

Night vision can also be used for inspection of the cargo area. Some cam manufacturers offer this feature with their front and rear dash cam corders. Some even have it built into the camera itself. By using infrared light, it enhances the capability of the human eye and increases safety.

Not all cars come equipped with these types of night vision lights. Most truck cam manufacturers have developed a separate cam that is compatible with the existing lights already installed in the vehicle. These lights are usually red in color and blend in with the overall color scheme of the truck. You do have the option of having separate daytime running lights as well. They can be amber in color or white in order to better match the daytime running lights of the truck cam. There are even some newer vehicles that can be equipped with daytime running lights, but they are generally larger than those for the truck cam.

Some newer vehicles, such as a Mercedes-Benz E Class, have front and rear cameras that are interchangeable. With this camcorder, drivers can have both of their eyes on the road at the same time. The red light is used to signify that the driver is currently alert and the amber light is used to indicate that they will switch to the rear cam to record whatever is occurring on that rear view mirror. It is important to make sure that this feature is operational in order to get an accurate record.

The quality of the video shot is dependent upon the quality of the individual camera and the amount of light available through the dashboard. Lamps on some vehicles are able to provide adequate lighting for good night vision. On the other hand, dimmer bulbs can be used if there is very little light available. In order to get the best quality image, there must also be plenty of ambient light available to bounce off of the dashboard. Some cars offer daytime running lamps, but these must be located very close to the cam to get a good night vision effect.

Some of these cars also offer two separate cameras, one for the rear and one for the front. This is a convenient feature for drivers who need to look over their shoulder at something behind them while driving. Another benefit is that these units are very easy to install, making them very user friendly.

Installing a front and rear dash cam with night vision technology is not difficult for most car owners. These devices connect to the vehicle's computer via a USB port. Most come with auto-installation instructions that walk the user through the process step-by-step. When looking for the best unit for your needs, it is a good idea to do research online so that you can get the best selection and price.
