Banging

If you hear a loud banging noise from your outdoor unit, the problem is probably with the compressor. Ac compressor is responsible for circulating refrigerant. However, due to usage and wear and tear, the parts of the compressor can become loose and create a loud banging noise when it rattles inside the compressors’ outer casing. Normally, a hissing sound indicates a refrigerant leak. However, it could be a sign of a duck leak, an air filter that doesn’t fit correctly in its slot, and a bad expansion valve. During the operation, the refrigerant runs in a closed loop within the cooling unit.
