The Apple iPhone 6s was introduced back in September 2015 and had gone on to become a bestseller in its segment back in the days. However, just as it is with most devices, the iPhone 6s too suffers from several issues, with display issues being the more common among them. For instance, reports of no display or the screen turning black are usual, among others. In the worst case scenario, users are also required to go for an iPhone 6s screen replacement job as well.

However, here are a few solutions that can help you deal with iPhone 6s display issues.

Reboot your iPhone

A simple reboot process can often be the magical cure for many a software related problems with your iPhone 6s.

  1. To restart your iPhone 6s, press and hold on to the Sleep button until the red slider appears.
  2. Shift the slider to turn off the iPhone 6s.
  3. To restart, press and hold on to the Sleep button again till the Apple logo appears.

Hard reset your iPhone 6s

Sometimes, you might be required to go for a hard reset of your iPhone 6s if a simple restart does not solve the issue. Here is how you do it.

1. Press and hold on to the Power button and the Home button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

Deal with a problematic app

If the screen turns black or a blank screen appears whenever you try to open an in-built app that can't be deleted, you can try deleting the cache info and data of the app.

  1. For that, go to Settings.
  2. Tap on the app causing the problem and clear the cache info and other data.
  3. Or, you can opt to reset all settings if you are not sure which app is causing the issue.
  4. For that, go to Settings>General> Reset> Reset App Settings.
  5. This will reset all your app settings and preferences but won't delete any of your data.

Restore your iPhone

This can be the last resort for you and is to be attempted when everything else has failed. For that, you have to connect your iPhone to a PC that has iTunes installed.

  1. Connect your iPhone to a PC or Mac using USB cable.
  2. Follow on-screen instructions. You might also be asked to enter the passcode for the user authentication process.
  3. With the iPhone connected to the PC, press and hold on to the Power button and the Home button at the same time.
  4. By holding on to both the buttons, you will see that the Apple logo appears.
  5. Do not release the button until the Recovery Mode screen shows up.
  6. You will be provided the option of either updating or restoring.
  7. Select Update.
  8. This will force iTunes to attempt a fresh re-installation of iOS. This action won't erase your data.
  9. Once the re-installation is successful, your iPhone will come out of the recovery mode on its own.

However, if the problem continues to persist, you should consult experts as this might be related to a more serious hardware issue. In some cases, you might have to go for an iPhone 6s screen replacement job as well.
