TP-Link is a well-established brand that deals with all kinds of networking devices. In this article we will talk about the wifi extender and its setup process, wifi range extender is a network expansion device. Extender helps you to extend the wifi signals of the router and provides a seamless connection in your house.

If we talk about the setup process of the tplinkrepeater. We can do the setup via three methods, WPS, web browser, and by using the ethernet cable. We will talk about all the methods one by one.

Method 1: Via WPSThis is the easiest way to do the setup. You just need to plug your extender into the power outlet and wait for the power light on it. Once your extender is up, then you need to press the WPS button on the router as well as the extender within 1 minute. It will take about 1 minute to establish the connection between router and extender. Once your extender is configured, you suppose to get solid light on it.

Sometimes, it does not get configured even pushing the WPS button on the router and extender. If this is the case, you need to reboot your modem and router. If still it does not work even rebooting the router. It means WPS is disabled on your router, in this case, if you know how to enable the WPS on the router then you can do it by login into the router's admin panel. Otherwise, you need to contact your router provider.

Method 2: Via Web Browser

In case, your extender doesn't get configured with the WPS button. You can try to configure this with a web URL http://tplinkrepeater.net. In order to do so, you need to make sure your extender is plugged into the power and you have solid light on the power. Then, you need to connect your device with TP-Link Extender_EXT wifi. This is the default wifi name for the extender, once your extender will be configured it will be removed automatically. Once your device is connected with TP-Link Extender_EXT then you need to open a browser on your device and type http://tplinkrepeater.net in the address bar. It will take you to the setup screen, here you need to create a log-in password then click on start setup. Now, it will ask you to select your wifi that you would like to extend and enter the password. Finally, it is configured and now you can change the location of your extender where you want to use it.

Method 3: Via Ethernet Cable ConnectionThis method is pretty much similar to method 2 but the only difference is that you need to connect an ethernet cable between the extender and the computer. If we are using an ethernet cable then we don't need to connect the device with TP-Link extender_EXT network. Once the cable is connected between the extender and the computer. Then, you need to follow the same instruction as to method 2 and your extender will be configured.

These instructions can be applied to every TP-Link wifi extender.
