Such menus are becoming increasingly popular with McDonald's and Paners allowing their dinners to order food and make payments quickly and efficiently with no human intervention in the process.

The advent of technology has removed the ‘wait’ from the ordering and paying, enabling restaurants to focus more on preparing food and serving them - enhancing the dining experience multifold.

The data collected from the customers’ orders also helps restaurant owners to get insights into the popularity of certain food items. They can also conduct surveys to gather true feedback about the restaurant and its food.

With more restaurants embracing digital menus, not all restaurateurs are convinced that it is the right choice. A few restaurant owners still believe that conversations between a waiter and a customer with a printed menu in hand can help build brand loyalty. They feel that like the social media, digital menus can end up being mere distractions during the dining experience. They also opine that a physical menu for a guest will allow the waiter to connect better with the guest and earn a loyal customer.
