5 Quick Tips for Better Time Management
Posted: Aug 05, 2021
Many of us feel overwhelmed from time to time. But if it’s an ongoing occurrence, it’s a safe bet that things need to change. That’s why today, we have easy to use tips and tricks to gain more time in your day.
1.Focus Management
First, remember that focus management is as important as time management. Are you checking your email every 10 minutes? Your text messages? Your social media feeds? Do you have 5 work projects happening at once?
If your focus is continually scattered and distracted, you will always feel like you’re behind the ball on what you need to get done. Therefore, the first rule of time management is doing a makeover on where you put your focus.
"It’s not always that we need to do more but rather that we need to focus on less." - Nathan W. Morris
2. Plan Ahead
"When we fail to plan, we plan to fail." – Benjamin Franklin
Set aside a few minutes every day to plan for the next day. We are much more effective when we have a clear plan for what we need to do!
Then, set aside one time a week to plan the following week. I am so much more productive when I take time out on a Friday or Sunday to set up goals for the next week!

3. Pick Your Top Priorities
Decide what your top 3 tasks are for the day, and do them FIRST THING in your day. As long as you get those done, you can let go of the items with lesser value. In this way, you’ll always feel like it’s a productive day.
4. Build Successful Routines
Morning and bedtime routines are essential time management tools for a multitude of reasons.
A morning routine sets the tone for the rest of the day. Many times, if I don’t work towards a goal in the morning, it just doesn’t get done. It’s often also the only time I have personal space for myself!
Additionally, a night routine helps us wind down and sets the tone for how the next day will go. These bookends to our day can be used for self-care, reflection, and preparation that help us succeed the REST of the time!
5. Simplify, Automate, & Delegate
Finally, Look at your schedule, your stuff, and your time.
Now what can you eliminate?
Are there steps that you can cut out?
Could you create a cheat sheet or checklist to make it easier?
Can someone else do this task?
Is it possible to automate or get help?
Scrutinize your life and you’ll find so many things that are more complicated than they need to be. You’ll be amazed out how much space you have once you make small changes.
In Conclusion
After doing these five tasks, you’ll have so much more time in your day for leisure and fun. Plus, you’ll be astonished by how much faster you move towards your main life goals. Again, it’s all about the focus! Simplify, automate, and delegate for best results.
