AirDrive RS-232 Recorder TS

The AirDrive RS-232 Recorder TS is a compact RS-232 and serial bus logger with 4 gigabytes of built-in memory and a time-stamping module. It can acquire data from a single serial data source, or tap onto a bi-directional serial bus. The AirDrive RS-232 Recorder can operate as USB flash memory for easy access to logged data. It's packed with features such as dual port configuration or virtual COM port mode with data streaming and a proprietary command set.

  2. Baud rates up to 230400 bps
  3. Logs 2 streams simultaneously (RX and TX)
  4. Independently selectable bit rates for both channels
  5. Time and date stamping with millisecond granularity
  6. Built-in battery (for real-time clock)
  7. Small and compact, only 2.4" (61 mm) long
  8. 4 gigabytes internal memory
  9. Industrial grade flash memory
  10. Operates as a USB flash drive
  11. Virtual COM port mode with data streaming and command set
  12. Push button for mode changing
  13. DB-9 male and female connectors on both ends
  14. USB-B side socket for power (5V DC)
  15. No software or drivers required, Windows, Linux, and Mac compatible
  16. USB cable included

Data logging made simple

The AirDrive RS-232 Recorder is a compact asynchronous serial logger, capable of recording RS-232 data streams from devices like printers, GPS receivers, terminals, keyboards, mice, barcode scanners etc. Connect the device either to a single serial source, or in-line on a serial bus. Connect 5V DC power using the side USB-B connector. The AirDrive RS-232 Recorder will immediately start logging all data available on the bus, both upstream and downstream (RX and TX). No software or drivers are required.

Easy access

To view the recorded data, the AirDrive RS-232 Recorder may be switched to flash drive mode. Connect to a computer using a USB-B cable, press the side button, and the AirDrive RS-232 Recorder will pop up as a removable drive, containing a file with logged data. The log file will be interleaved with time and date-stamps. The flash drive may also be used to configure the device, such as baudrate, parity bits, start/stop bits, etc.

Dual port

The AirDrive RS-232 Recorder family of devices has two RS-232 input ports, responsible for data acquisition from up to two sources. Both ports can share a common configuration, or may be configured independently using dual port mode. In this mode two separate settings may be used for the baud rate, number of bits, stop bits, and parity.

Multiple modes

The AirDrive rs232 data logger Recorder family is packed with features, such as the capability to act as a USB removable flash drive, or USB Virtual COM port. In flash drive mode, a log file is available with all acquired data. Virtual COM port mode can be used to live-stream the captured data, or to communicate with the device using a proprietary command set.

Date and time-stamping

The built-in real-time clock will keep track of the time and date independent if the computer is turned on or not. This is possible thanks to the internal battery, with a guaranteed lifetime of over 10 years. Time and date stamps with millisecond granularity will get inserted in the log file while the logger is capturing data.
