Pench is a National Park and a tiger reserve situated in Central India or the State of Madhya Pradesh. A part of the forest falls under the jurisdiction of the neighboring state of Maharashtra tigers move from one state or another but the forests in Central India are preferred for tiger safari adventures.

The reserve is one of the finest destinations in India for sighting big cats and the cohabitors like fellow predators the leopard and the wolf. Small-time predators like the jackal and fox abound but the latter is nocturnal and often difficult to locate.

The reserve is a land slated for wilderness without any interference from humans. They guard and protect the place as a conservation measure but human intervention in the ecosystem is limited. The policy is to let nature work it out itself. Human behavior has always been inimical to nature in recent times that has resulted in species extinction and loss of habitats everywhere.

Pench National Park is reserved for good although much constricted now it is still an intact ecosystem. Wildlife and floral elements flourish here and support clean air, water resources and keep the environment in balance. Humanity around the reserves benefit from these gifts offered by nature and prevent climate change. The Park is one of the vital constructs of nature that is helping the Earth fight against global warming.

India has more than fifty protected areas with the core being inviolate. No human activities are allowed in the core except the protection mechanism that prevents and quells forest fires and thwarts poachers from indulging in nefarious activities.

The conservation unit offers immense scope for holidaymakers and is very popular among the domestic crowd and overseas visitors. The ecosystem is subject to filmmaking and photography with a focus on the magnificent tigers and their activities.

On a wild safari, visitors come across Nilgai, chausingha, and Chinkara antelopes besides the deer species. Wolf is a rare sight as it inhabits the outskirts of the buffer zone. Bison thrive in plenty and they are the largest mammals in the park with the male weighing over 1000 kilos. Sloth bears, wild dogs, and leopards are a rare sight and reserved for the lucky few.

Birding is a popular activity, and more than two hundred species can be seen with some being winter migrants. The activity is conducted outside the park with great success since avians are everywhere.

In order to film, photograph, or enjoy the wilderness a number of days have to be spent here. Six safaris are the minimum that is suggested. More is better. Tigers and rare animals come under the scope with longer time spent in the park.

For extended stay accommodation in Pench becomes vital for a good experience. You need to choose one which is luxurious, organized exciting safaris, and conducts bird watching to accord a holistic experience. In the house, recreation is important hence peek into their website to see what the accommodations’ offer. To get details, talk to the resort management. During the rush, the rides may not be available or the hotels may be all booked. Advance planning is vital for holidaying at any reserve in India please note.
