When you have company coming for the holidays, it can be really nerve-racking. That stress isn't good for anybody. Your guests will pick up on it, and you'll feel it too. It can even lead to bad health or a nervous condition. Here are some tips on how to handle stress when your company is coming over.

Stress is normal with people coming into your own personal space. You want them to feel comfortable and not worry that they won't feel that way. Your personal space has a certain energy to it that others can sense. You want to create a peaceful environment. During the holidays, this can be really difficult. You're already stressed from the rush of the holidays and deadlines at work. When it comes together, it can be overwhelming. The question is, how do you create a peaceful environment that helps you and your guests to be at ease?

Feng Shui, which is the art of Chinese "geomancy," creates that exact environment to give you an environment that is peaceful and brings abundance. There are other types of décor techniques as well. It's all about balance. When you don't have that, you end up with anxiety and other problems. Maybe it's that for you, and maybe you like to decorate. It is definitely time to decorate. Honestly, think about how you feel when you get to decorate for the holidays. If you are like many, it brings a sense of peace and joy. That alone can help. That's why we humans do such things.

If you are one of those people that doesn't feel that way about decorating, then this won't apply to you, but if you get the giggles when you think of pumpkins and bobbing for apples, then read on for some incredible tips to get your home in the peaceful direction instead of the stressful one.

In Feng Shui, you begin with a red door. That door brings abundance to the home. Lately, the sliding door handles are the new thing that your home must have. So consider that.

When it's Christmastime, if you celebrate that holiday, you have one decoration already there. That door to your home brings not only abundance but also brings you peace. Also, make sure your door is open inward. Otherwise, you risk losing your energy, blessings, and peace.

Bring in the good chi energy with a hall that does not have clutter. Consider a spacious feel to the front door. Failure to do this brings chaos, which can lead to that anxiety. Place a nice furniture piece or flowers on a table as a central focus from the front door. This brings beauty into your life.

Never wear shoes inside the house. This brings in negativity. Taking off your shoes at the door symbolizes leaving the cares of the world outside. The inside is your sacred space. Make it pleasant with good vibes to relax your guests during the holidays.

Hang little bells on a red ribbon to bring abundance inside your home. To increase that abundance, simply place a frog, if you like them for a cute décor piece, facing the inside of your home with a coin in its mouth. In your first room, the living room, locate your wealth corner and place symbols of abundance there. Anything will do as long as it holds importance to you. If you have water like a KOI pond or fountain, always place it at the front of the home in the outside entrance. This symbolizes abundance as well. If you already have water in the back, place a papyrus at the very back, facing your house. The back should be towards the fence or road.

Remember that in any home, Asian or otherwise your home can befit from a good flow of energy. Brightening up the home and adding those small accents to improve the flow of positive energy is what you need to create a peaceful space during the holidays. Your guests will leave blessed and think well of you.
