Marvel Success in India proves Indian loves Superheroes

Marvel is now the biggest entertainment franchise right now around the world. The Marvel Cinematic Universe or MCU created by Marvel Studios is now the highest-grossing movie series in the business. They have produced a total of 25 movies and almost all of them are successful both critically and financially. That is why they are expanding well in other countries and India is not left from their success. Indians love big-budget VFX movies from Hollywood since we don't produce them in-house. And their movies were massively popular in the Indian subcontinent with a huge amount of fans pre-booking tickets and Housefull shows at the first weekend.

This is proven by their box-office success in the Indian market. That is why they also release their movies in regional languages like Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Around 50% of their revenue come from regional dubbing. The last Avengers movie also beat many Bollywood movies. Avengers Endgame box-office in India was more than 350 crores rupees. This became the first Hollywood movie to enter the 300 crores club in India, which is a great achievement. No other foreign movie has done that in history. We also know that Avengers 4 earned more than 2.7 billion dollars around the globe.

There other movies like Avengers Infinity War, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man Far from Home was broke all expectations in India. Infinity War also crossed 200 crores rupees in 2018, breaking Indian Hollywood movie box-office records. India is growing economically and the younger generation now needs more entertainment in their fans. Most young fans are in love with global pop culture and superheroes are now in the top trend. As a superhero fan, I can say that Marvel is doing great for expanding its business in India. Their shows are also available in the regional Disney plus Hotstar streaming platform on the same day as the US. I am sure that their future movies will perform well in the country since the fans are also active on social media talking about their upcoming movies and making theories regarding what will happen.

They are also making easy for fans to afford their content and releasing movies on more screen than usual. Indian theatre owners are also happy with this since this attracts younger people to their multiplexes. It looks like this Marvel Success is not going anywhere anytime soon.
