What is a pH controller? Also known as pH regulators, these are devices which are used to control and regulate the increased or decreased pH levels of a substance (solid or fluids) to ensure normal acidic and basic levels. Some pH controllers have an in-built pH measurer as well which is money- saving and makes it multi- usable. So… that sounds extremely good! A device with two combined functions. We can say that it works as a dual system.

Working-

How does a pH controller work? Like an ORP meter, it also has a probe which is functioned to measure the pH level and if the pH level is found out to be unbalanced, several chemicals balance it through an injection pump. It is more complex but has been described and interpreted in simple and understandable form.

Features-

What are the several features of this device? It comes with innumerable features induced in it for better functioning, service and your convenience. These features are the main reason behind a huge popularity garnered by these devices. Listed below are some of the most prominent and useful features-

  • Accuracy- A pH controller has a very least count which means it can measure very less or minute values also which proves that it is very specific and exact. You can easily rely on the measurements measured and displayed by it making it a trustworthy device as well.
  • Display- To display the measurements, a pH controller has a clear display and displays the values large enough to read and see from a distance as well.
  • Portability- The device comes in two variants- portable and fixed ones. The most preferred one is the portable variant because it can be carried along as it is very light- weighted.
  • Resistance- it is resistance to many extreme temperatures and external forces. Planning to carry it to a very hot place? Do not worry, it will withstand the hot temperature.
  • Built- It is built very hard and offers sturdiness and rigidness. It won’t break easily giving it a longer shelf- life. It is very stylish and available in different colours as well and you can easily show it off to your friends and colleagues. You can also modify and personalise it according to your choice.

Applications and Uses-

What are the different uses and applications of pH controller?

  • It is used in cosmetics and other products which come in direct contact with the body. The pH level should be specifically 7 and not more or less than it. if there is an alteration in the levels, it may cause harm to the user.
  • It is also used in water supply plants to treat hard water and convert to soft water by normalising the pH level.
  • It is also used in agricultural sectors to balance the pH level of water to water the crops, as acidulated water can cause a huge damage to the crops.
  • It is also used in beverages or food production industries for the same aforementioned reasons.

These were some of the most important things about a pH controller that you must know before buying one such.
