LPG is an incredible source of energy and is used widely for cooking, heating, etc. all across the world. It is the epitome of efficiency, air quality, and environmental friendliness. When compared to traditional fuels, it takes less time for heating without creating a mess. Just like natural gas, crude oil, and coal, LPG is also a fossil fuel. Though what makes it different from these fossil fuels is that you will never find LPG occurring on its own rather it will be found in combination with either crude oil or natural gas. About 60% is obtained during the extraction of natural gas while leaving 40% to be extracted through crude oil refinement.

Some of the unique features of LPG :

  • Petroleum gas contracts notably when it changes its form from a gaseous to a liquid state. The reason it is easy to transport lots of LPG in a small space is that the volume of the LPG in liquid form is only 1/250 of the gas.

  • Another fact is that when you heat it the liquid inside the gas cylinder changes into a vapor. Even after releasing the pressure through the value, it changes into vapor. You would easily see the change or transformation of liquid into vapor with any difference in temperature and pressure if the cylinder was made of glass.

  • As it is heavier than air, in the case of the tank or a cylinder leakage, the liquid gas first changes into a vapor and then spreads to the ground.

  • Chemically speaking, LPG is made up of propane, butane, or a mix of both. It also consists of carbon and hydrogen atoms.

Compared to other fuels or sources of energy, LPG is a highly responsible and efficient choice of energy. It not only takes less time to heat but also emits negligible amounts of harmful gases to the atmosphere. The emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases is also lower in LPG. LPG‘s qualities get even better when used as a bio LPG. Bio LPG can be used by mixing with the conventional LPG and is extracted from vegetable oils or food waste. LPG can be used in different forms and is most popular as cooking fuel. With many choices of gas companies in Oman now it is easy to book the one according to your convenience. You need to choose the one based on your requirements and can book LPG online from the comfort of your house.
