Perhaps Australia's most up-and-coming capital city, Brisbane has been continually fast growing over recent years. And yet, it manages to reflect a remarkable balance of urbanisation versus nature, making it one of the most pleasant cities to visit in the country. With a central area dissected by a picturesque river, easy access to some of the prettiest coastal areas, and arguably the best overall weather, Brisbane has a lot to offer both visitors and locals. Take a look at some amazing must-see and must-do experiences to add to your bucket-list.

Brisbane River Cruise

The Brisbane River is a perfect destination for adventure and recreation. You have many options including kayaking, stand up paddleboarding or a classic Brisbane River cruise. Explore and celebrate the Brisbane River or simply have a picnic in the riverside parkland. A classic river cruise in Brisbane offers the best views of the river as it coasts up and down to take in the pretty locales of the city. This amazingly constructed city looks extremely beautiful from a river cruise. You will get an opportunity to capture some amazing photos for the ‘gram as well.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

At Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the importance is for hands-on interaction with the animals; from cuddling koalas to feeding the kangaroos in a beautiful natural setting. This premier tourist attraction of Brisbane is only less than an hour’s drive from Gold Coast. Lone Pine Sanctuary is home to some 100 koalas and more than 70 native animals. The guests will not only get a chance to see but also connect and learn, and to feel inspired to make small and positive changes in their day-to-day lives to help protect their native wildlife and habitats.

Moreton Island Visit

Moreton Bay is one of the most pristine regions in Queensland. Here, you will get a chance to get up close and personal with some of QLD's best marine wildlife including dolphins, turtles, dugongs and more. You can either sign up for a Moreton Bay Marine Park tour or enjoy a self-drive to the destination. The Marine Park situated off the coast of Brisbane is home to more than 700 resident Bottlenose dolphins. Choose a Moreton Bay cruise to get a wonderful opportunity to spot these friendly and intelligent beings from up close and learn about their habitat, diet and behaviour.

New Farm Park

New Farm Park is a spacious and beautiful park that the locals celebrate as a well-equipped slice of greenery, located not too far from the Central Business District. Set out over an expanse of 37 acres, there are many reasons for the park's popularity; its proximity to the CBD, its array of facilities, and its lovely and floral environment where you can relax and unwind. New Farm Park's size brings along with it many benefits, especially for families, as it has plenty of space for the kids to run around, or for spreading out a picnic rug. There is a wonderful children's playground and jungle gym at the park, and although it can get busy during the peak hours with a large number of children, there's always enough space at New Farm to go around.

Adults will also enjoy their time here, as the park is both well-maintained and best for taking photos, more so during spring when all the colourful flowers are in bloom. New Farm Park has a number of excellent examples of horticulture and numerous decorative plants arranged throughout, including a variety of rose bushes that create a pleasant backdrop.

Brisbane also boasts a number of award-winning restaurants and enticing rooftop bars that make up for exciting urban culinary adventures. You’ll also find World Heritage-listed rainforests and breathtaking mountain peaks, all within an hour’s travel from the city.
