Building a gaming PC is a terrifying task for new entrants. Even without a technical background, it can be a little tricky as you can imagine. But again, it's not like computer technology, it's like building a Lego set if Lego is much cheaper and more expensive.

The first step is to decide what you want to retrieve from your new computer, which will guide the remainder of the process. The moment you have an idea of what to expect from your computer, you know what kind of hardware you'll need to keep it running well.

Here are some components to start with for your PC, and the buying guide to understand them-

1. Motherboard

The motherboard is the first component you want to select. The motherboard defines not just the physical form factor and size of your PC construction, but also the extra hardware that your computer can utilize.

For example, the motherboard determines the processor performance it can handle, memory technology (DDR4, DDR3, DDR2, etc.), the number of modules it can install, and the memory form factor (2.5 inches, mSATA). 2. Memory

Hard drives generally provide more storage space (in GB), but SSDs essentially obsolete them-SSDs are on average 6 times faster and 90 times more energy-efficient than hard drives.

This difference leads to increased speed, efficiency, and durability, as small mechanical parts and rotating platters are more susceptible to physical damage than NAND. This difference allows the data to be accessed faster and stored on the SSD longer.

4. CPU

The CPU is the engine of the computer and sets the expected performance of the entire build. RAM and storage fuel the processor that controls all data transactions in the PC. Be aware of gigahertz (GHz) when choosing the CPU to install. The faster the processor, the higher the GHz.

However, higher GHz also means that the CPU is using more power. As a result, the system temperature rises, which can improve airflow and heat dissipation in the computer.
