Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. Bandhavgarh, with an area of 105 square kilometers (41 sq mi), was declared a national park in 1968 and then became Tiger Reserve in 1993. The current core area is spread over 716 square kilometers (276 sq mi). This park has a large biodiversity. The park has a large breeding population of leopards and various species of deer. Maharaja Martand Singh of Rewa captured the first white tiger in this region in 1951. This white tiger, Mohan, is now stuffed and on display in the palace of the Maharajas of Rewa. Historically villagers and their cattle have been at a threat from the tiger. Rising mining activities around the park are putting the tigers at risk.

The Kanha Tiger Reserve is one of the most amazing places to visit in India when you are a nature lover. Spread over an area of 397.39sq km, the park is home to a large population of tigers and other wildlife. The best time to visit this pristine area is between November and May since the weather is relatively better during these months. The topmost attractive place of this reserve is the Kabrai waterfalls where you can take an exhilarating bath in the water. In addition, you can also explore the dense forests of the reserve on foot or on horseback. The place also has a huge number of birds and some of the best Indian animals.

Kanha is the oldest national park in India. The park is located on the Satpura Range of Central India. The name Kanha is derived from the name of the holy river Narmada which is also called Kalchuri. The park is located in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh between latitudes 21°40' and 22°48' N and longitudes 76°12' and 77°36' E, about 300 kilometers from Jabalpur.

In the early 1930s, Kanha was a backward area. The region was infested with wild animals. At that time, Kanha was a part of the Indore State.
