Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland and one of the most populated cities in Australia offering numerous exciting, educational, outdoor and indoor sights and activities for its visitors and locals. Being a nature-oriented city holding a rich history and cultural heritage, Brisbane is home to several fascinating multi-storied buildings, museums and an Underground Opera House! Here are two outdoor activities worth your time!

Explore the City on a River Cruise

Brisbane is built on the incredible Brisbane River which flows right through the heart of the city, which has made it a perfect setting for numerous fun and entertaining activities to thrive upon. When the sun starts to slowly fade away into the horizon, Brisbane’s true beauty comes into play with the city skyline, including the riverfront, shining with bright colours. A dinner cruise in Brisbane is the ideal way to enjoy a relaxing evening with tantalising dishes along with incredible views of the famous Botanic Gardens, Brisbane Wheel, Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point Cliffs and many more! Tap your feet to the rhythm of the inhouse DJ as you cruise past these landmarks, and if you wish you can further boost your experience by purchasing premium drinks from the onboard bar. The Brisbane River Dinner cruise is your ultimate choice to enjoy a relaxing yet fun dining experience with stunning city views!

Wander inside the Peace Pagoda

At the site of the ‘88 World Expo, is one of South Bank’s most treasured works of architecture, the Nepalese Peace Pagoda. The three story high pagoda located in the heart of South Bank’s Parklands was originally built as the Kingdom of Nepal’s contribution to the World Expo 1988 and now is the only remaining international exhibit on the site. This intricately built Nepalese-style architecture is one of the most peaceful places to visit in Brisbane and to have an introspection with one’s own thoughts, this is what sets it apart from other modern museums, buildings and structures. It is the only one of its kind outside Nepal, the other two being in Osaka and Munich, with a multitude of Hindu and Buddhist iconography which represents different avatars of the ancient deities. You can simply roam around the Pagoda through its lower level and explore it’s sophisticated design up close and learn more about the 80 tons of hand-carved timber and the effort made by the 160 Nepalese families who helped build this landmark attraction.

Brisbane is a city brimming with touristy attractions and visiting any of them can give you an amalgamation of tranquillity and thrill. You can also visit the many public gardens, museums, adventure parks and shopping malls which will keep you entertained throughout your visit.
