Chromebook is not only a laptop that is sleek and stylish, but has other features that will make you think about purchasing it too. With the recent developments, Toshiba too has more to offer. Toshiba has recently come out with Chromebook 2 that is more than just what you expect from it.

About Chromebook 2

The Chromebook 2 by Toshiba measures 13.3-inch display that is available in two resolutions as 1920 x 1080 and 1366 x 768 pixels. Here we are going to talk about the 1920 x 1080 resolution Chromebook 2 that is available for $349.

Like any other Chromebook, this too sports an entry-level processor by Intel (Celeron processors). This processor helps you to get through with light computing tasks that include documentation, browsing, e-mailing and such other activities. Nonetheless, with 64-bit computing you have little to bother about as it sure does pack on more.

With 16 GB internal storage capacity and 100GB cloud storage with Google Drive, you have a decent amount of storage at your hands. This sure means that even though the processor might not be impressive but at least you need not worry upon storage.

Other specifications include the following:

  • Graphics Processor
  • Intel HD Graphics
  • Media: Stereo speakers, microphone
  • Chrome keyboard, multi-touch touchpad
  • Connectivity options: Headphone/microphone combo jack, 2 x USB 3.0, HDMI
  • 801.11ac+agn Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a HD webcam
  • Battery power: 9h usage time

The Design

The design is an essential factor that either appeals to an onlooker or repulses. The unit is a textured material that is not shiny, but coarse that ensures that it will not get scratched and meant for casual use. You can easily carry it in your handbag without having to bother about damaging the external part. The inside design of the Chromebook is smooth, sleek, polished with brushed metallic feel. It sports a backlight keyboard for the convenience of typing in uncomfortable light conditions. Edges are shaped like a teardrop; it might at times look almost like you are carrying a MacBook Air.

The unique thing that you would appreciate in the design is the inclusion of Kensington security lock, which is introduced as an anti-theft feature in the device that weighs 3.3 lbs.

Utility

The Chromebook 2 is a perfect companion to those who are vying for a personal computer that they can carry along easily. This Chromebook is exactly something that you would like to carry along for your daily computing activities. The best part is that the Chromebook 2 has faster boot up time. You would love watching Netflix in your free time, stream pictures or read content.

Another thing would be listening to music full blast that would be a delight as Toshiba has partnered with Skullcandy for speakers. For light work like checking e-mails, you can easily pull through 5 days on a single charge. If you indulge in routine computing then, you will get 7 hours out of it.

Should you purchase it?

The Chromebook 2 by Toshiba does seem to come out on top in utility and portability. Things like good battery power, 64-bit system are impressive too. It is cheaper than 13-inch Chromebook 2 by Samsung that will cost you $499. This sure speaks in favor of purchasing it.
