No matter the time of year, you’ll find yourself at a social gathering (big or small) with friends or family around. Maybe it’s for a holiday, birthday party, neighborhood bbq or just a random get together, either way you know that sometimes you need to add a little FUN to the get-together!

So next time you feel the need to incorporate a game into the mix of entertainment check out these five fun games to play.

Bonus! These games are also:

  1. Clean
  2. Limited supplies needed
  3. Easy to learn

I’m honestly not much of a game player unless someone else initiates the activity, but I have come to find out that I really enjoy the game of Dominoes. Maybe because I played with my family, but I had lots of fun!

1. Dominoes

This game does require the purchase of the dominoes but once you have it, it will be used over and over to get your money's worth. You’ll need 2 to 9 players so the game will accommodate big or small groups. The object of the game is to rid as many of your dominoes as fast as possible and be the first to do so. A little bit of math will be required when you add up your remaining dominoes at the end of each hand, but if I can do it, so can you. The game is for the older crowd but littles can help match the dominoes and place the trains.

2. Who’s Most Likely To Questions

This is a great game to play with friends, family, students or colleagues as the questions can be

adapted to fit the audience. You can also spice it up or make it age-appropriate depending on

the players. To play, you’ll write questions down and draw them out of a bowl. One player asks

the question and either one person answers or the whole group writes their answers down. The

person with the most picked wins!

Don’t worry about thinking up questions because you can find a list of who’s most likely to questions here

3. Two Truths and a Lie

For some reason my friends and I would play this game regularly when we would all be hanging

out. It’s a fun way to use your imagination while also getting to know one another better. You

may find out that people will surprise you!

It’s an easy game to play and the best part is there’s no supplies needed. Just go around the

group (2 or more people) and tell two truths about yourself and one lie. The remaining people

have to guess which is the lie. Make them outrageous or so simple they can’t tell the difference.

Play until you’re ready for the next game.

4. 20 Questions

This game will require some critical thinking if you don’t want to lose, but it will be fun! Super

simple and all ages can play–one person chooses an object and the remaining players only

have 20 questions they can ask to correctly guess it. You don’t want to waste your limited

number of questions to choose them wisely!

Rules can be adjusted, as I’ve played where everyone around the kitchen just started shouting

questions out (no order necessary) so just go with it!

5. Card Games

There are card games galore that you could play at a get together so I didn’t want to limit to just one!

Depending on the size of your group and the age ranges, pull out a deck of cards (or two) and

play any of these entertaining card games.

Older kids and larger groups: Golf, President, Spoons, Speed

Younger Kids: Slap Jack, War, Go-Fish

The main idea for all these games is to keep it simple, light and fun so everyone can play and

enjoy the time together!
