too busy

Office work can be tiresome – both mentally and physically. Still, there are many useful tips on how you can make it more enjoyable, some of which are rather easy to achieve.

Let’s consider some ideas hereby.

Get Up and Move Around

Avoid stiffness when you've been sitting a while, especially if you're injury prone.

Make an effort to move as much as possible. E.g., you can take the stairs instead of the elevator and walk to work instead of driving. Also, make sure to take regular short breaks to walk a bit or simply stretch your muscles.

Be Sure to Hydrate

That staying properly hydrated is paramount should be obvious to everyone yet we still somehow manage to forget all about it when we’re too busy.

Water can help you avoid leg cramps, among other benefits, so when you’re too busy to think about your health, put a bottle of water on your desk.

Get Innovative

There are indeed many useful tips when it comes to innovative ideas. One of the most popular ones at the moment is – height adjustable standing desks. They can really help with back pain and increase your stamina to boot.

Another idea is to bring office plants. Not only do they provide better air quality and are eye candy, but they have also been proven to increase productivity and have calming effects. Finally, office plants reduce noise levels.

Lastly, make sure to eat a nutritious diet. Put a bowl of fruit on your desk so that you can always have snacks handy, but do not necessarily ditch all "unhealthy" snacks. Sometimes everyone needs that chocolate bar, so treat yourself when you’re tired.

Unwind

Similarly to hydration, people often forget that breaks should not just be about getting your stomach full. Don’t skip your breaks even when it seems you’re too busy and take your time to actually unwind. Walk a bit, enjoy your lunch outside when the weather is nice, enjoy a cup of coffee in a relaxed atmosphere.

This will, more than anything else, help you charge your batteries and come back to your task happy and refreshed.

Instead of a Conclusion

The simplest of things are usually what we tend to forget. The key to a happy office life lies in small treats – a glass of water, a banana, a chocolate bar, a moment in the park, a short walk… Don’t forget to allow yourself to unwind every day during your breaks and you’ll start seeing your mood improving very soon.
