If you are using a wireless network for your printer, ensure the internet is working fine.
Now, ensure the printer and computer are connected to the same network.
If using a wired connection, make sure the connections are firm and there is no issue with them.
This process fixes major Epson printer issues including Epson printer error code 0x97. So execute these steps and see if that fixes the error.
Set the Epson printer as the default printer

After you locate your printer driver, right-tap on it and choose update.
Halt till the process takes place and once done, restart your device.
To update your drivers, you can also evoke an automatic updater tool that automatically looks for any updates and executes them.

- Enter services.msc
- Locate print spooler and stop it
- Now in the address bar enter %windir%System32spoolPRINTERS
