On September 17, 2014 Apple introduced its 8th major release, iOS 8.0 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. As expected, the new update offered many changes and improvements to enhance the experience of iPhone and iPad users. But it also brought along new vectors of problems. This article covers a few iPad issues after iOS 8 update and offers resolution for them.

There are various reasons to accept iOS 8 as a commendable work by Apple. The OS introduced some of the best iPad apps so far such as Photos app, iMessage, etc. Apart from that it also improved the battery usage, accessibility, sharing, and privacy of the device to a large extent. However, inevitably along with improvements, bugs also peak in with each update and iOS8 was no exception to it. Apple’s first bug fixing update for iOS 8 was iOS 8.0.1. Although, it fixed many bugs, but there were still certain lingering problems. For fixing those, Apple introduced the iOS 8.0.2 as another update to fix the issues.

Apple iPad users must upgrade to iOS 8.0.2 to get most of their iPad issues resolved, but even after that some issues might continue. To fix those, users have to do some tweaking in the settings and also need to make some changes in their daily usage pattern. However, there are some common issues which are being reported by many iPad users.

Following are such three common issues and fixes from them.

Wi-Fi Issues

Whether you are using iPad 3 or any other Apple iPad running on iOS8, 8.1 or 8.2, there are chances of facing Wi-Fi issues. In the Apple’s discussion forum also, there is a kind of rife with Wi-Fi complaints. Although, there is no as such guaranteed fix for Wi-Fi issues, but you can try out some tweaks for resolving Wi-Fi issues in earlier models of iPad. You can try replacing your router or can reset your networking settings. Resetting the network setting is extremely easy and takes only a couple of minute.

First open your tablet and navigate to Settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings. Enter your passcode and wait for a few minutes while your tablet reboots.

If resetting doesn’t fix the issue, then you can try turning off Wi-Fi Networking. Navigate to Settings> Privacy> Location Services> System Services and turn of the Wi-Fi. Now, let your tablet reboot. After reboot, most likely your Wi-Fi will start working normally.

Bluetooth Problems

Bluetooth problems are highly common. Usually, users find these Bluetooth issues, when they use their tablets on cars. iOS 8.01 update has fixed the Bluetooth error bug. So if you are using iOS 8 then upgrade to iOS 8.01 or 8.02 to squash the Bluetooth issues permanently. In the Apple’s discussion forum, users have singled out that "Reset All Settings" is a solid fix to Bluetooth issues. Although, it didn’t turn fruitful for everyone, but tons of people replied in the discussion forum claiming success. To "Reset All Settings," head to Settings> General> Reset> Reset All Settings.

App Issues

Users are also facing issues of sudden crashing or freezing of the apps. When any useful and preferred app crashes down, it creates high discomfort for the users. It is unfortunate that Apple has not fixed these issues and also hasn’t let third-party developers to take care of these problems. However, there are a few tweaks that iPad users try out to make things more stable.

Most importantly, always keep the apps updated. It’s not always Apple to blame, but there are plenty of iPhone and iPad users, who are very bad in keeping their apps updated. If you are one such user, then better turn on "Automatic App Store updates." In this way, you will get your apps updated automatically, whenever any update gets available.

Apple is very particular about making its iOS platform as user-friendly as possible. The brand has already set a benchmark in the industry in this regard. But an OS can't be made 100% bug free, so as a user you might have to try out some or other settings tweak to resolve the persistent issues.
