What to Pack for your Hen Weekend

The biggest dilemma that every girl faces as soon as the hen weekend is mentioned is what to pack. Most girls tend to over-pack and attempt to fit as much in their suitcase as possible.

If you are planning a hen weekend in the UK you do not need to worry about luggage restrictions. But bear in mind that you are the one who will carry your suitcase. You may have to carry your case on and off a train. You do not want to end up completely exhausted by the time you get to the location. Make sure you can lift the weight of your case!

If you are heading to warmer climates, plan your outfits ahead of time rather than chucking everything in the suitcase. Create a capsule wardrobe and take items that can be dressed up or down, as well as basic items such as a nude or black pair of heels, a blazer and a simple cami top.

Of course, what will be in your suitcase for the hen weekend will largely depend on the activities that are planned for the Hen Weekend too. If you are doing a dance lesson for the hen party, then it’s best to pack comfortable dancing shoes and clothes that doesn’t restrict your movements. For example, flat shoes, high heels, ballet pumps are great for dancing. Regarding clothing, we would suggest that you wear a t-shirt or vest top, leotards and leggings.

For the evenings and clubbing, you will want your best ‘going out the town’ outfits. This is the perfect excuse to go shopping for something new! The organiser might also suggest a theme for all or part of the weekend so you might have to be a bit more creative and shop for hen party accessories.

Along with the usual toiletries and make-up, here's a quick checklist of some other essentials to pack:

Camera and spare batteries – To capture the best bits of the whole weekend.

Phone Charger - When you’re not updating Facebook or uploading to Instagram, you’ll be texting, taking pictures and finding your way to the restaurant on google maps, so make sure you keep your phone topped up with charge!

Travel First Aid Kit – It might seem a bit excessive, but you’ll be thanking us when you have a pack of plasters handy for all those sore feet at the end of the evening. Plus, chucking in a few extra paracetamol & a tube of berocca for you and the other girls will be a lifesaver!

Print outs – If you’ve booked yourself in for a meal or spa treatments, it’s always handy to have a hard copy of your confirmation email, just in case.

Sun Cream/Waterproofs – Be sure to check the weather forecast for the weekend, and adapt your suitcase accordingly, whether it’s adding your rain mac or your trilby and suncream!

Small present for the bride-to-be - As outrageous as you dare!
