Egyptians have enjoyed the Nile Cruise for a long time, so it's no wonder that it's a great way to see the best of Egypt. Nile cruises are very popular, so first-time visitors to Egypt could have difficulty sorting through all of the options. In this piece, we'll describe the differences between Nile cruises and the most crucial things to look for and consider before scheduling a trip to Egypt.

What Do You See While Sailing the Nile?

Nile cruises stop at these well-known tourist spots along route from Luxor to Aswan:

Luxor

Luxor is home to some of Egypt's most unique and intriguing sites. If you're looking for pharaonic tombs, here is where you'll find them. Many of these cemeteries remain hidden in the hills despite the fact that a few have previously been located. You'll visit Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, and the Temple of the Queen of Hatshepsut.

As a side trip from the city, take a Nile cruise to view the Colossi of Memnon, the Valley of the Queens, and several museums, such as the fascinating museum of mummification. Another popular activity in the region is a flight in a hot air balloon above Luxor. The sunrise over the Valley of the Kings and the Nile is a breathtaking sight.

Edfu

In Egypt, Edfu's temple to Horus is the best-preserved temple, and it is a must-see for anybody visiting the country. Archaeologists and Egyptologists have benefited much from the Edfu temple's sculptures and hieroglyphics in their quest to learn more about ancient Egyptian rituals.

The building of Egypt's second-largest temple, Edfu, lasted more than two centuries. As well as depicting the conflict between Horus and Seth in the Passage of Victory, and depicting the components and formulas required to produce different fragrances, the Hypostyle Hall has sculptures depicting various ingredients and recipes. Predicting future crops relied on the Nilometer, which measured how high the Nile flowed.

In the Kom Ombo

Kom Ombo is a little village, but the temple there is well worth the trip. The temple is remarkable because both Horus, the falcon deity, and Sobek, the crocodile god, are worshipped there. Despite the fact that this temple only has one, everything has two of it.

Another must-see in Kom Ombo is the crocodile museum. In addition to the human mummies you saw in the Egyptian Museum, there are 22 crocodile mummies on show here as well. I promise you've never seen crocodile coffins like this before.

What Port of Entry Do You Have in Mind for Your Nile Cruise?

Aswan or Luxor serve as the starting point for a Nile Cruise. All of the same sights and experiences will be available to you regardless of where you begin your adventure. There are, however, a few points to bear in mind.

Luxor's hot air balloon ride in Egypt's Valley of the Kings is one of the most popular things to do. You'll need to plan your voyage around this in order to participate. There is usually enough time for a hot air balloon ride before your cruise since these flights take place early in the morning and last around an hour. If you plan both activities on the same day, you should keep in mind that the balloon ride begins at extremely early in the morning, so you may not want to directly go to the sites thereafter.

An early morning trip from Aswan to Abu Simbel, Egypt's southernmost temple, is a popular option. Make sure to check with your tour operator to see whether this activity can be booked around your cruise.
