Project Management Certification can boost your career and might be the missing key to making your resume perfect. It will help you obtain your ideal project management job. Professionals will benefit from these credentials since they will provide them an advantage in a competitive industry. The Project Management Institute (PMI) is regarded as the industry leader in management certification. Their certificates have become industry standards. PMI has a total of eight certifications available, which are PMP Project Management Professional, CAPM, PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, PgMP, PfMP, PMI-SP, and PMI-PBA.
The following are the four most popular project management certifications that will be beneficial to you in 2022:
1. PMP Project Management Professional
The PMP Project Management Professional certification is one of the most well recognized in the management field and it is designed for project managers with extensive expertise. It is PMI's most advanced level of certification. PMP certification is held by professionals in almost 190 countries.
The PMP prep is a laborious process. For an aspirant to take the PMP test, he must first demonstrate to PMI that he/she has spent a minimum of 35 hours of PMP prep for the exam. PMI conducts an audit on random candidates once all of the documentation for the PMP Exam is completed.
2. Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM)
This certification is designed for the beginner’s level project managers. Those project managers who do not match the PMP certification qualifying criteria but wish to gain a head start in the industry can pursue this certification. For this certification’s eligibility, you just want a secondary degree or a high school education or have 1500 hours of leading/directing a project or a 23 contact hours certificate. The PMP Certification needs to be renewed every 3 years whereas in CAPM, the certification is valid only for 5 years.
3. Projects IN Controlled Environment (PRINCE2)
Prince2 certification is mainly recognized in the United Kingdom. Axelos is the authority for this certification. This certification helps you to ensure that projects are managed in a consistent manner. This certification has two levels: PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2. You study the fundamental terms and principles of PRINCE2 at the Foundation level. Then you'll learn how to use PRINCE2 in projects at the Practitioner level. The PRINCE2 Foundation level certification has no qualifying requirements. However, the PRINCE2 Practitioner level certification requires you to be either PRINCE2 Foundation certified or PMP certified.
4. Certified Agile Project Manager (IAPM)
The Certified Agile Project Manager certification is best suited for managers who want to improve their abilities and expertise, especially in agile project management. Scrum roles, product backlog, team building, conflict management, and project environment are among the subjects covered by the IAPM in this certification. Professionals do not need prior project experience to be qualified for this certification, but they need to have a fundamental grasp of Agile.
There are many more project management certifications available along with these four, but these are some of the best to pick from. These credentials might assist you in honing your project management abilities. Earning a certification is a huge commitment, but the advantages frequently exceed the disadvantages.
